Incredible stuff that works like magic, low cost cure
I've used the product for a couple months but held off on a review until the weather got really hot and sunny when the algae REALLY likes to grow. IT WORKS! I have a 1,000 gallon or so rubber lined pond. At first I thought that my super-duper high dollar pressure filter was doing the job. I was wrong. Long stringy algae started to grow everywhere and I removed it the best I could daily with a rake. I crossed my fingers and bought this stuff and did the heavy-duty first treatment and it worked within a day or two. Since then only two tablespoons a week keep the algae away. I broadcast it across the pond surface but that's likely not necessary. One jug of this magic will likely last you several years--a real bargain and time saver. It didn't kill my water lilies and they've been blooming for a week. I put some fish in and it didn't kill them but I think the Blue Heron ate them all--in any event I didn't see any dead fish floating.Update March 22, 2012: I've been using this stuff for a year now and am ever more impressed. I live in Cleveland, OH and ran the pump all winter (without the filter) so the water was getting a bit gross. Yesterday I couldn't see to the 2' deep bottom and added a few teaspoons of the product to my 1,000 gallon pond (I also re-installed the Laguna pressure filter--another great product). Today I could see the bottom of the pond. This product is phenomenally inexpensive to use and, best of all, it works, doesn't kill the fish, and makes the pond clear.

Works amazing!
I was super skeptical at first and especially with the cost, but after using only 1 treatment of this (about 2 mls) in my tiny pond that was filled with algae, I am in disbelief at how amazing and how fast it has begun to clear it up in only a few days. The algae we had was uncontrollable and extremely hard to even scoop out, then after a few drops and a few days, the algae has turned white, broken up and completely disintegrated. Once killed, it is very easy to remove with a container. So far, it hasn't affected my water plants and the bottle is huge so I'm sure it will last for a very long time! Highly recommend!

This product works - it works have no fear
We have used this product for more than 3 years in our fountain exposed to hot sun, and prone to getting bits of moss that clog up the fountain water pump, and it clears the water to beautiful clear water , clarity may take a day to fully activate, and no more pump problems. If you let the pump impeller go dry as it willl with a clog, the pump will die. Buy without fear this product works, of course it takes a little money , why no this product is not easy to find, and the container we buy has enough for a once a week application for the entire season. Our fountain has a large bowl holding the water supply that holds at a guess around 12 gallons of water. A few dollars is worth the end to trouble you can have without this product. I am not wanting to tell you some fibs about something that works just a little bit. IT WORKS FOR ME, THAT IS ALL I KNOW!!!!We buy the large jug. IT arrived on our front door ON TIME - NICELY BOXED AND GOT TO US WITHOUT A LEAK, OR DAMAGE TO CONTAINER. iT GOT TO US perfect just perfectg, and CLEAN, just pick up and measure out

Worked well but ...
I used this product and it worked on the green, yellow and black algae in my backyard waterfeature/waterfall. I've used several of these algae products from various manufacturers over the years. All of the algae products (except the green ones) have the same active ingredient: dimethyliminoethylene dichloride. So I wondered why the reviews show that some people found one or the other of these products didn't work. First, the instructions on this bottle make clear that if you have a problem, you need to use a lot more of the product than you would for maintenance of a clean system. For example, with my problem waterfeature, maintenance is 2 TBS/wk, but cleanup is 1/2 cup (and I put more in than that). I'm not sure what the health effects of additional product is on birds (check with your manufacturer), but it can't be much worse than a chlorine shock. Anyway, I haven't seen that instruction on other products. I suspect that most people buying this stuff have an existing problem and if they use the maintenance amount, they're not going to get a good result. Second, I looked on the web and found that the shelf life of this chemical is 1 year. So if you don't get the result you're looking for you might have gotten an old bottle (and you'll likely need a new bottle next year). Most of these products have lot numbers, so you could call the manufacturer and see how old that lot is -- perhaps get a newer bottle of the stuff. Anyway, I'd suggest buying by price and/or other features of the product (e.g., this has a clarifier, which I also believe is working) and buying enough that you can get your system back to clean.

Does work at a reasonable price
Have used this for a few years on my outside fountains. Seems to help keep green algea controlled.

Great for the fountain
We have tried so many treatments to keep the algae down in our large water feature, this is by far the best we have found. By using it weekly, we can go all summer with no algae issues.
