This rain gauge is clearly and well marked but it does not have a “collar” or retainer tong at the top. I wrapped double stick tape around it to keep it from falling through the ring of the holder.

I usually have to buy these every year since I have the simple screw mounted gauges on my privacy fence. But this last year I remembered to turn them upside down before the freeze came and so far they are holding up good.
