As long as you have a whole yolk when you crack your egg, that yolk will come out very easily with this purchase. Love it wish I would have seen it a lot earlier.

Who knew that suction was the answer to separate eggs??!! No more cold, slimy hands & fingers! THIS WORKS! I read reviews and followed helpful tips from them. FOUR SUGGESTIONS: 1.) COAT THE CLEAR RIM WITH OIL BEFORE USE. 2.) USE ON COLD EGGS. 3. CRACK NOT MORE THAN 2-4 EGGS IN A WIDE, SHALLOW BOWL (like a pasta bowl). SUCK THE YOLKS OUT, POUR THE WHITES IN ANOTHER CONTAINER. 4.) PLACE SEPARATOR RIM LIGHTLY, BUT SQUARELY, ON THE SURFACE OF THE YOLK...TO CREATE SUCTION. AS YOU RELEASE THE BULB, SLIGHTLY TIP AND RAISE THE BULB AS IT ENGULFS THE YOLK. It is that easy! On my first use, NOT ONE YOLK BROKE, out of 15!! I love it!! So, I just got a great idea, a new way to use this! When I fry eggs, the yolks get too cooked while trying to get the whites done. HaHaa! Well, NOW, I suck the yolks out, let the whites cook, then replace the yolks to get warm...and stay runny!! LIFE IS BETTER, NOW!! :)

I bought several of the strainer type but wasn't quite happy with them. I decided to give this item a try and was quite surprised at how easy and effective it was. I think it made less of a mess. Getting the right amount of suction from squeezing the bulb will take a little nack.

So easy to use, cleaning it can be a bit tricky, although the hard plastic mouth easily pops off, but getting in there with a sponge is impossible. I suggest a small brush.That being said, this does exactly what it claims to do! For years, I've used the old method: crack the egg and hope you get two fairly equal halves, then back and forth, back and forth until you have the yolk in one of the egg halves and the white in a bowl. Not hard, but sometimes messy and time consuming if you need to do more than a couple of eggs.But this little gadget makes that so easy to take care of. Simply squeeze up the yolk, and you're done! Nicely priced as well.

I'm allergic to egg whites, so I had to have this item. I've bought other Tovolo products before, and they're pretty well made.

Do yourself a favor just use your hands. Crack the eggs in a bowl, grab the yolk with your hands and let the egg white slip through your fingers. This device ended up breaking half the yolks I was trying to extract.

I have seen video online people using plastic bottle to separate the egg yolk from the egg white. I saw this product available on Amazon . I have to buy it . It a nice design. However, there is couple issues.1 the suction hole is too big . The yolk keep falling out when I tried to suck more than one yolk.2 the hole piece attach to a rubber suction pouch. I know it design so u can remove it for cleaning . However, since it doesn't has a tight seal . Therefore ,it loose some of the suction pressure. That is why the egg yolk will not stay inside the suction rubber pouch. I didn't return it since it not an expensive item. However, I thought it will be helpful for other people .

Brought this to help with the morning routine of making fluffy omelet every morning. Needed to separate three egg yokes from the whites. This tool was able to suck out the yoke with a little bit of connecting egg whites, and keep the yoke in there as I work on separating the two other yokes with no problem- or extra dishes involved! Also brought an OXO egg separator at the same time to test out the two, but the yokes break on the OXO while I'm sliding the yokes into the pan. So this one is the keeper.
