1979 FORD TRUCK & PICKUP FACTORY REPAIR SHOP & SERVICE MANUAL CD - F-100, F-150, F-250, F-350, long and short beds, Super Cabs and Crew Cabs; Bronco 79

The Haynes/Chilton manuals are inadequate when you have no intention of taking your classic vehicle to a "certified mechanic" to do all the work for you. I am in the process of restoring a 1979 F-150 4x4 and though I have a Haynes manual printed in 1982 it does not cover near the detail a person needs when they are rebuilding the suspension and need torque specs for all the fasteners or you're changing out inner axles seals and need to know proper specs for back lash, pinion pre-load, etc. You might also be chasing electrical issues and need better electrical schematics. This CD-ROM has solved that issue. I was hesitant to pay what they are asking for a CD-ROM as I didn't know what to expect, but it has been worth every penny. There were 3 PDFs on the disk which cover every possible detail you would need and provide tips, tricks and in some cases how to build or make another tool work in the event you don't have the "dealer only tool." If you are doing more than oil changes, swapping brake pads and general maintenance then this is the service manual for you. If you prefer to have a paper manual what I have done is I print the section I need, use some page protectors and put them in a 3 ring binder. As I need different sections I print more out. Unless of course you want to print over 1500 pages of content all at once.

I really like this, it has been a huge help in my 79 4x4 project truck so far. It's way better than any of the crappy chilton type manuals I have. I wouldn't waste my money on those hard copies again so take it for what it's worth.

Received quickly. Packaged well. Good disc and does have a lot of good information. Have to look for the information as sometimes not easy to find. Not has many diagrams as I would have like. But still glad I bought the disk.

A complete reference

Great overall, I was a little disappointed that it was a burned disk. instead of a light silver one like CD's I've received from other manufactures. Although nothing was wrong with the item the jewel case it came it had a chunk missing from the lid, but the CD was fine. The CD contained 3 PDF Manuals as described and the PDF's have Indexing which I was surprised. As mentioned in the other post everything is very detailed out. In the 2 days I've had it thus far, its been great reading material. Because its a shop manual it even gives tips on how to diagnose issues, from Check A that it has power then check B to see if it turns on if both of those work replace C. VERY HELPFUL. 5 Stars for content, 4 Stars because its a burned disk, when expecting a "Factory Sealed" New item. The jewel case did have a Ford Official sticker over the side of the jewel case that opens which was kind of neat.

Actually a little overwhelming with all the info. Great value for the amount of information.
