La Choy Sliced Bamboo Shoots, 8 oz Can

These cans arrived on time and well-packaged. When you get right down to it, bamboo shoots are plain old wood, but boy do they add to a dish. We use them with teriyaki bowls, sweet and sour soup, and even salads. There's a slight flavor that does add to a dish's taste. If you know Chinese food, you'll recognize it. Very nice complement to many different dishes. Not cheap, but very good.

Nice and crisp whether chilled or stir fried. Intact, unlike some brands where you get bits and pieces.

For canned it is ok, just okThat said, still crispy and decent thickness.

I make a lot of stir-fries, and I love having water chestnuts and bamboo shoots that are always in the pantry.These are excellent quality.While the label says one can equals one portion, I would say one can equals three portions. There is almost no sodium, no cholesterol, 2 grams of protein and 3 g of fiber.They add texture, crunch and gustatory interest to my dinner.

I keep this on hand for nights when I want to do a quick stir fry but haven’t been to the store for a lot of supplies. Mild taste, but takes on the flavors of the rest of the meal. Not slimy at all, quality is good, and the size is perfect for when I do a quick meal for 4. I just drain and dump the whole can in for some variety. Has a little crunch.

Not much flavor but they add texture and I like them when I make my homemade Pho. There are better bamboo shoots out there, but these will do in a pinch.

The cans were not packaged well, thus there were received bent. This is the same complaints that were written by other reviewers but I took a chance because of the excellent price point. The cans are bent but the shoots were excellent tasting and crispy.
