Amazon says this won't fit my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport
But. This definitely fits my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport. Just like the Dorman website as well as AutoZone said it should. It seems to work great, and I'm sure it would if it was installed properly. I've seen other reviews stating that installing this was a PITA, and they are not wrong. We struggled to remove the faulty Lock Assembly and in our frustration couldn't remember what went where. So when we tried to install this, we had to do a lot of trial and error to connect it back up, and we didn't do it quite right(We're pretty sure we don't have the key lock connected properly), but we did it well enough to lock and unlock as well as to open the door with the inside and outside handles. Took us about 3 hours. If it wasn't for my brother who wanted to figure it out, I would have given up and taken it to a mechanic or body shop or find the appropriate professional that would install this for me. I would not recommend doing this yourself.

Works for my 2004 Ford Sport Trac
Changed out the drivers side door lock assembly, as well as the power lock ( A-Premium Door Lock Actuator Motor Replacement for Ford Explorer Sport Trac 2004-2005 Crown Victoria Lincoln Town Car Mercury Grand Marquis 【Reference Number】4L2Z78218A42AA, 746-187 ) on my 2004 Ford Sport Trac which was working intermittently. Better to change out both when your doing all this work inside the door. Thanks to You Tube videos I took my time and got it done. Works perfectly now. Also changed out the old thick grease on the window actuator tracks & slides to Synthetic grease. Window works much faster now, up here in the Frozen North! The lock assembly and the door lock actuator I got from AMAZON!

Works well. Installed myself with help from on-line directions at [...] I strongly recommend following these directions with one additional tool: small flashlight.

Exactly what my Explorer needed
Exactly what I needed for my 1999 Ford Explorer driver side front door. Almost half price of what my local Napa tried to sell me. Fit is perfect and though it’s a bit of a pain to install, product is a prefect replacement to the factory unit. Shipping was very fast too. All in all, 5 Star product.
