Solid, easy to install by itself, but runs into issues when you add the actual camera.
The mount itself is solid and easy to work with. The problem only reveals itself when a camera is added to the situation. The weather shield and the camera themselves has some difficulty when installing them to the mount. You can't set the weather shield on the arm, and pull it over the camera, if you have a camera like the Q3708-PVE. It just won't slip over the camera.Furthermore, you have to remove the camera to install the camera cover, because the screw positions are under the mount. Which is fine as long as you don't bump the camera before you re-install it, and after you've positioned it.Then the camera must also be disconnected from the mount to install the weather shield. When you have both installed, you can then re-mount the camera. The little rubber bands inside the mount will probably not survive the second mounting. If you get this far and haven't checked your camera to make sure it is still pointing the direction you want, good luck. Finally, the little snap-on piece that fits the bottom of the weather shield would only snap onto 3 of the 4 locations, and the snap is loose enough to make me worry for anyone who might wander underneath the camera. Would reinforcing screws be too difficult? So my advice to Axis: Find a mounting and weatherproofing method that doesn't require removing the camera after you have aimed it to perfection (different placement for camera screws, weather cover that splits in half, and can be slid on and secured post camera installation, reinforcing screws on the weather cover bottom plate).
