Hudson's Luck: A Forever Wilde Novel
M**E
I'm the lucky one <3
I know reviews are supposed to be for potential readers, but after 14 novels and a few short stories I'd like to speak directly to the author on this one, but if you bear with me I hope to answer you, the readers, wonderings about Hudson's Luck too.Dear Lucy, almost two years ago I had the honor and privilege of reading an arc of your first story Borrowing Blue. I don't have the words to say how grateful I am that I took a chance on a new author. I don't remember exactly what my circumstances were at the time but I remember that things in my life were rough. I also remember because of that, and despite it, that Borrowing Blue was able to completely suck me in and captivate me. When I had no attention span or focus and I kept dwelling on and being pulled down by my situation, Blue and Tristan managed to distract me when no one else could. They held my attention, they literally made me laugh out loud, they put a ridiculous smile on my face the whole time and made my cheeks sore the next day, they wormed their way into my heart and made me feel all kinds of feels, and they introduced me to one of my favorite authors. An author who tells fun, creative, sweet, funny, sexy, lovable, all the feels, easy to read stories. That was the first book and the beginning of an amazing almost two years of reading. One of my, and I think probably a lot of readers, biggest fears when falling in love with not just a book but an author, is that fear of being let down. Of the stories running out of steam, or of growing apart. I've never once been let down. Every single story has been a perfect and completely fulfilling experience. From Borrowing Blue to now Hudson's Luck. Hudson and Charlie, just like Blue and Tristan, carried me away from the cares of my life. Helped me forget for just a little while. Put a big, stupid grin on my face. Made my already full heart of Lucy Lennox men, a bit fuller with two new additions. There are other authors I also adore, but the one hundred percent absolute truth is that there is not one single other author whose writing has had the same effect on me. To be able to lift someone's spirits, put a smile on their face, give them something to daydream about even a week or more after the fact, to not only give them sweet, lovable, funny characters to enjoy, but also interesting stories and new interests piqued. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart thank you for your stories. Thank you for the gift of having the only thing I'm worried about for the moment being trying to decide if Charlie and Hudson now have a bigger piece of my heart than the others or if I love all of my Lucy Lennox book boyfriends the same. Either way, they're all very much adored.Did I fall in love? Absolutely. So much yes! Especially Charlie. I dare anyone not to fall in love with Charlie :DWould I re-read Hudson's Luck? Again absolutely. I would and have re-read many of these stories. Were there moments- sad, funny, sweet, fantasy fueling- that I replay? So. Many.

Sweet and romantic
Rating: 4🌈I didn’t realize until later that this was a part of a much larger universe, with a preceding series (Made Marian) and connected family history to accompany it.Lennox does give the reader a family tree with all the information and couple names at the beginning of each story to help sort out the “who’s this “ relations but sometimes it’s easier to just go through the whole story with a easy ignorance. Then if you want to learn more, chase down the other books. All that said, Hudson’s Luck is my first book in this universe. I liked the description and the Irish setting sealed it.Lennox does a wonderful job with her characters and setting. From the moment we met Hudson Wilde, a financial analyst for the beer business , on a plane to Ireland, we soon get a intimate glimpse into a man who has accidentally overturned his calm life. And will soon be thrust into a unknown one.Hudson is a very well conceptualized character. From the oldest in a large family, highly responsible, the one that the younger ones could count on, Lennox brings us a man who’s life needs a lot of work and growth. And then proceeds to slowly give him the new experiences and one man who can make him change. That’s Charlie Murray. A Irish publican, gorgeous with a bad dating history. And a uncle who’s endangered the family’s business. The entire storyline that’s set in Ireland is wonderful, sexy, funny and not nearly long enough. But Lennox needs to switch locations again back to Hobie, Texas and Hudson’s family’s ranch. That’s where the entire Wilde family resides and the remainder of the story takes place. The Wilde siblings, Grampa and Gramps, exes, even dogs come looping into the story. The family elements are heartwarming and believable. I felt at home with the grandparents and their dogs, and chaos on the ranch. It’s welcoming and real. The same for the sheepdog aspect, trials , Charlie and his dog, Mama. The romance between Charlie and Hudson? That was a bit more frustrating. Hudson though he was straight until Charlie when it became obvious he wasn’t. But the denial at home and the pain he inflicted didn’t seem true after a while. At first yes, the conflict to acknowledge something new or true and then tell family? Yes, that’s takes time and effort. But his family is primarily LGBTGIA, and the choices he made contributed greatly to hurting the people he loved. So it felt more a narrative choice than an emotionally driven one.The ending was a wonderful one and I think the couple, dogs and all, were off on a HEA.I’m recommending it. And I’ll check out others in the series to see what the other siblings are doing.Forever Wilde series:- [ ] Facing West #1- [ ] Felix and the Prince #2- [ ] Wilde Fire #3- [x] Hudson’s Luck #4- [ ] His Saint #5- [ ] Wilde Love #6- [ ] King Me #7- [ ] NautiCal #8- [ ] Forever Wilde in Aster Valley #9

Love shows up in unexpected places
This series is phenomenal. I fall in love with every book and every couple. Hudson and Charlie are one of the swooniest. They are real, relatable people who have flaws, but are really trying to just do their best as messy humans. This beautiful love story is filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love - one minute I was snort laughing, the next I was swooning, then gasping, then cringing, and then I was crying. Hudson has five gay brothers and he’s sure he’s straight. Until he sees beautiful feminine Charlie in the Irish pub that he’s evaluating for investment purposes. And once Charlie comes to small town Hobie to recreate the Irish pub, the journey to their HEA really starts to pick up steam. Now the just have to work through the easy issues of sexuality and different time zones. The story will give you all the feels - laughing, crying, swooning, cringing, teeth gritting, and cheering with very little angst. It has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, fan your face steam, side splitting hilarity, tearful scenes, character missteps and growth plus all the heart squeezing love. I am excited to continue reading this series and loving on the Wilde family.

Another great read
Lennox nails the straight guy goes gay in this one and as usual she complete shifts locales and brings in characters that aren’t the typical North American norm to do it. Loved every word, twist and turn.

I loved it 😍
Wow. That was just *chefs kiss*I can’t believe how much I laughed out loud, blushed, and cringed at this book. I started before bed thinking I’d read 1-4 chapters but I couldn’t stop and soon I was at chapter 24 out of 46 (plus epilogue and deleted scenes). From the awkward, nervous babbling of Hudson, to Charlie’s puns this is a book you don’t want to miss!I hadn’t read any of the Wilde brothers series before but I need to read all of them. I need to know each story…. So, that’s another series added to my tbbatbr (to be bought and to be read) pile - I’d feel guilty if it hadn’t been so good. The story itself was immersive and well written. Throughout I suffered second hand embarrassment, face palm moments I swear I’ve lived as I spoke to my now husband when we met - I still babble nonsense at him even after 16 years!I loved how the author wrote about Hudson’s dilemma and frustration. Gah, I just LOVED the whole book! My recommendation? Read it. Now. Go and enjoy 🤩

… ein schönes Buch. Die Reihe macht großen Spaß!Ich hätte echt gerne ein Bild von Charlie gesehen, so wie die Autorin ihn sich vorstellt. Das muss ein Hübscher sein.
