Best pipe dope I ever used
I had to change the run on about 40' of natural gas line that involved about 12 fittings. I'm comfortable enough working with gas but I'd rather avoid it if I can. In this case I couldn't.I had always used standard pipe dope and never had a problem with it until I had to take the joints apart years later. The day before I start dismantling gas fittings, sealed with that rock hard dope, I read through my dictionary of 4 letter words to make sure there aren't any I forgot because I'm gonna need them all. I needed a few extra this time so I just made them up.Anyway, I'll get to the point. Gasoila is the greatest sealant I have ever used. There is no wait time from tightening the fitting to turning on the gas. This stuff stays soft for about a day and then hardens up a bit, but you can still scrape it with your fingernail. If I have to take of a fitting off 3 years from now I won't have to break my back breaking the seal.I actually called the company in Cleveland when I was using this stuff to ask them some questions. I was connected to a guy with a british accent and we had a nice chat. He took a lot of time with me and gave me a lot of information. I found out that the product can also be used on potable water lines. No more teflon tape! I tried it on the laundry tub sink trap that was leaking and it worked! This stuff smells nasty till it dries, it's messy but cleans off your hands with soap and water. I got some on my shirt but it didn't wash out in the laundry.

Great sealant
I learned of this stuff by hanging out on plumbing forums. This is what the professionals use. I built and installed a professional grade whole-house water filtration system in my home, and was concerned that the copper unions and threaded fittings might leak. This stuff seals tight, allowing future disassembly if needed. Not one leak, as promised. I will use this from now on as I see why plumbers swear by it.** update 7/2019 **I have been using this for most of my plumbing, and this stuff rocks. I have never had a leak since I started using it. Nice.

Great Pipe Sealant. Amazon Prime shipping Needs to Improve.
This is a great product to seal pipe for natural gas or in my case LPG. It is thick enough to stay on the threads and seal any gaps between male and female threads. Seems as though it will stay pliable for many years.Only negative thing I have to say is something that has become all to common with Amazon Prime in the last few years. Once again the delivery was late.

This stuff works great for sealing threaded fuel oil connections
I put an auxiliary fuel tank in my truck. I did a lot of research on what to use to seal the threaded shutoff valve assembly as I did not want any fuel leaks. I decided on this after reading many reviews. This stuff works and it works well.

Seals Very Well & Food Grade Approved
Used this for some chemical piping at work with a highly oxidative chemical. So far it has sealed great with no leaks for 6 months now. I imagine it may hold up for a year. So far, so good...better than PTFE tape, at least for my application.

Not too thick not too thin, holding up so far.
I'm installing a new shower and decided to connect it using PEX pipe. I used this sealant for the threaded nipples connecting the pex to the shower valve, also connecting the shower valve to the wand and overhead sprayer. So far so good.

Too runny.....
I ended up not using this because it was too runny, with the consistency of oil. It may work fine at stopping gas leaks, I don't know, but I prefer a thick sealant that adhears to the pipe threads and stays put in the area where the pipe and nut come together.

NO BIG ADVANTAGE OVER TEFLON TAPE ---- I think
This product might be handy sometimes if it is used maybe together with Teflon tape in tough situations but by itself I think it's about the same as the use of tape by itself. Another thing that really bothered me that for the somewhat premium price is that I had to squeeze the tube to almost 1/4 up from the bottom before I got some product coming out !! Of course it is hard to tell if I was shorted on the 2 oz. promised contents of it, but I thought if was worth mentioning for the somewhat hefty price !
