Efficent
is a simple yet incredibly effective tool for anyone looking to maintain a tidy garden without the back-breaking labor. Designed with ergonomics in mind, this weeder allows you to pull stubborn weeds out by the roots without bending or kneeling—a huge plus for older gardeners or anyone with joint issues.Pros:• Back-Saving Design: The long handle and foot pedal mechanism make it easy to use while standing upright.• Durable Construction: Made with heavy-duty steel, it feels solid and built to last through tough soil and years of use.• Eco-Friendly: No need for chemicals—this tool pulls the entire weed, roots and all.• Satisfying to Use: There’s something genuinely gratifying about hearing the “pop” of a weed being uprooted cleanly.Cons:• Requires Some Foot Pressure: Though not difficult, it does take a bit of effort to push the foot pedal down in tougher soil. The Grandpa’s Garden Weeder is a fantastic tool for anyone who wants to make weeding easier, cleaner, and more efficient. While it might not replace hand weeding in every corner of your garden, it shines in large plots and for folks who want to garden without the strain. Highly recommended for all lawn enthusiasts!

This is the real deal
I was skeptical about how something that looked so simple could work so well, but this is the real deal. Line it up with the center of the weed, step on the lever to push it into the ground, then tilt the handle to rip out the weed and all of its roots with it. There is no ejection mechanism so you will need something like a screwdriver to help discard the weed from the forks. I have only had it a short time but it feels very durable and can't imagine it breaking under normal use. It is so easy to use that it is almost fun.It works best when the ground is slightly moist. If the ground is too dry then it is more difficult to push into the ground, and if the ground is very wet then it will remove more dirt along with the weed, creating a larger hole, and the wet dirt will stick to the forks making it more difficult to discard the weed.

Where has this been my whole life!
My husband loves working in the yard. He recently had surgery and hasn't been able to bend as easily through his recovery. I bought this on a chance that he would like it, I am not going to lie I was hesitant due to the price for a tool that said it pulled weeds....I am so glad I did! Even the kids enjoy going out and pulling weeds and have made a competition out of who can get the biggest root. This requires little effort to pull the entire-weed and root up! It's a solid wood handle and metal weed puller thing, so while the cost seems high you are getting quality materials. This isn't heavy-we have an acre that we walk through every few days and "pluck" the weeds out with this. If you are looking for a fun, easy way to pull weeds-this is it! The only con that I have, is that it does get some dirt stuck that you have to remove if you can't shake it off, but that's it-it is a yard tool, it's going to get dirty.

Excellent for getting full taproot on small dandelions, but nearly useless for large dandelions
Limited effectiveness!!! I would conditionally recommend this product based on “initial quality” impressions, for those looking to “permanently remove small new growth dandelions”, or for those merely looking to “temporarily” clear their lawn of dandelions. This tool is Very effective for long term removal of small new growth dandelions with short taproots. These taproots are easily and (very nearly) completely removed every time. This tool is “not sufficient” for “long term dandelion removal of large established dandelions.” It Rarely pulls the whole taproot. Out of 40 attempts on large established dandelions I was able to pull one complete taproot, four 75% (+ or -) of taproot, five 50% (+ or -) of taproot, and the rest broke off near the base of the dandelion. I tried rocking the puller, pulling very slowly, and even twisting with little to no effect. The ground is very low in clay, and damp (heavy rain two days prior and a light rain the previous night). It struggles to remove taproots much longer than the tools forks. Any taproot left behind will grow back.I purchased the tool to recover large taproots for their herbal properties. For this purpose this tool is completely useless. And for the same reason useless for long term removal of large established dandelions.“Initial Quality” appears to be “very good.” The wood handle feels sturdy and solid; however, it is bowed. I doubt this will affect performance nor durability. The cast iron pulling head appears solid. Movement is not loose nor sloppy. Outside of the possibility natural manufacturing defect, this tool appears to be very good quality. If I decide to keep it, I will update this review with longterm impressions.
