LG Washer Gasket 4986ER0004C

So this is my second seal in 3 months. My cat likes to chew on them if i leave the door open. Last time i purchaed one with a drain, and had to plug it as it was the wrong item - everything else was the same.There are a couple of good videos on youtube explaining how to take apart the washer, to install this. It took 90 minutes the first time I did it, 45 the second. There are approximately 10 screws, and two spring loaded retainers to do this. I'm relatively handy, and own lots of tools, so ymmv.one trick to getting the inner retainer back in place is to thread some twine through the spring, and pull it up to, then over the hook. If a pair of pliers slips, you can expect to get stitches.Anyway, good product, excellent fit. I'd put it right in the middle of difficulty for DIY - be patient, lubricate the gasket to slide into place over the drum liner lip.... Good luck!

Great fit. Probably didn't need to replace this item, but glad I did as smell went away.(if you are having a leaky boot, check your hinge as this will cause a leaky boot and the door lock de code)

I only wish that I had bought this sooner. So easy to replace. I only had a small cut in my gasket so I continued to use the original. It would be much easier to install with the correct replacement tools, but I was able to use tools I had around the house.

I bought this to replace my LG washer there was a tear in the gasket and water was getting everywhere. I followed a YouTube video and the entire process was easier than expected. I was a little upset when I noticed that this one was bigger than the one that came off of my washer, but it fit so much better. No more leak! I am very happy Thank you!One thing I will say... I you can get that spring expansion tool.. GET IT. I did not and boy was it a headache trying to get those clamps on.

I replaced my door boot because it was starting to get rigid and had some mold on it after 10 years. It was not difficult to replace, but definitely buy the stretcher tool if you are going to do this yourself.

Hard to get on, but it should be. So it worked as expected and no more mysterious wet spot in front of the washing machine after every load.

Can't say it is the gasket that isn't easy to install, you should have the right tools, but overall this was an "easy" fix. Direct to replacement part, works flawlessly.

The seal worked just fine, the only problem is that the seal must be stretched over the seal mounting plate. Not impossible but rather difficult. Other than that no issues. Very happy with the product.
