Better than many of the 4K projectors on the market...
The first reason to get this projector is for the laser technology, because it makes the picture much brighter than LED projectors, while rendering the sharpest color contrast possible. You also get very good optics, thereby shortening the throw distance to provide a massive screen size up to "150.The smart features are another reason to get this projector. Everything is properly licensed, and you'll get future updates to the operating system thanks to Epson. The same cannot be said for off branded projectors. The number of apps is virtually unlimited. And best of all, the most important are included: Netflix, Prime, Youtube, etc.The setup can be cumbersome. And you'll want to be close to your wifi router, because this device struggles to get a good signal. This seems to be a common theme with Epson, so just be aware of that. If you have a good wifi signal in the room, and you like using QR codes for setup, then setup will be a breeze. The sound is ok in a pinch, but if you're using this for home theater, then external speakers are the way to go. And since this has a very bright laser light source, it has a built in safety protection that dims the projector when something (somebody) gets in the way, to prevent blinding small children. That's a great feature to have, and a must have feature for a projector that carries this level of brightness. The heat generation is less than comparably bright projectors that use incandescent lamps that burn out every few years. Thus, the fan noise is much less, too. Should you get this, or spend an extra $1,600 to get a 4K projector that is comparable in brightness and features? That's a difficult call to make, but considering that you're not likely to notice much difference between 1080p and 2160P resolution, I'd get this projector and plan to upgrade in about 5 years. Indeed, this projector is better than any of the low end 4K projector's that you'll find on the market.

Small and mighty, as long as you're happy w/ 1080p and need legacy ports
I'm impressed with the small size of this EPSON projector and its capabilities, all wrapped under a neat Google TV interface. It's very compact and lightweight, making it ultra portable -- smaller than even our toaster! Given the premium price tag on this unit compared to its peers, it deserves a closer look.Because it runs on the Android TV platform, it has access to all the streaming apps that run on Google TV. We have an Onn media player, so we're already familiar with it. Even our 5 year olds can operate the menu.On the flip side, I found some of the specs puzzling for a device released in 2025, like the inclusion of a now-ancient USB mini B port -- that's right: mini!! It's not even USB micro. This was deprecated in 2007, and only very old devices use it, like PS3, Garmin GPS, Microsoft Zune, and LeapPad. Remember those? No? I don't blame you.It also has a USB A port, and both ports are USB 2.0, not 3.0 or higher. There's no USB C port. USB 3 is very common and 10x faster than USB 2.0. The manual advises that not all USB devices will be supported for display, so why even bother with this? Modern devices will all have HDMI out or output via USB C (using a USB C to HDMI cable), so just use the HDMI port.Display is only 1080p, which is being edged out by the 4k standard. PS4/5 and XBOX all support 4k, Nintendo Switch is the only one at 1080p. I do like the inclusion of Dolby speakers, and am glad there is audio pass-thru via HDMI ARC. This means you can connect a sound bar or other speaker to it for higher quality audio, though I haven't tried it yet. Supported formats are:• L-PCM 2 ch (48kHz/24bit)• Dolby Digital(AC-3)• Dolby Digital Plus• AACBluetooth is also a connectivity option, but not recommended due to possible lag. A stereo port is included but I don't know why optical/TOSLINK is not. Both are legacy ports though.1000 lumens is table stakes, so nothing new there. It uses a standard IEC C7 cable, and comes with a full-sized remote instead of those easy-to-lose credit card ones. You'll have to decide if the features warrant the hefty asking price. A comparable unit can be had for less than half what this costs. Maybe it's the premium for Shaq's celebrity endorsement.Lastly, it needs to be mentioned that Epson used all shaped paper inserts for its packaging. There are only 2 plastic bags in the entire box (one to protect the projector, and one for the manual). Thank you for going green.

Incredible projector!
I've used several different projectors over the past few years, and this one is by far the best in just about every way! The picture quality is unmatched, looking like a bright, high-definition screen even in moderate lighting (which most projectors struggle in). The auto keystone and focus is extremely helpful to get you up and going very quickly, making setup a breeze. The projector is equipped with Google TV also, which is one of the better "Smart TV" options out there in my opinion. While the built-in speakers aren't the greatest on this, it has bluetooth connectivity, so it's easy to connect to external speakers. The size is quite large when placed in an ideal position as well. Overall, I'm so happy I got this, and would gladly recommend it.
