First month with the Movi Robot
Pros: It connects quickly and well with the Movi App with only rare drops. The Movi App is strong with respect to control of the gimble. Solid. Can set it down. Intuitive as most can pick it up and be capturing great footage with little instruction. There are NO indicators from the front that the device is active (nothing to distract the subject nor draw attention to you as you film).Cons: The Movi App is very weak with respect to video control. One should consider an app like Filmic Pro for video production which allows for lens selection, focus control, etc. The Movi App is required for any automated manipulation of the gimble. Slow motion can be captured in Majestic and Echo modes (240fps) however, when one changes to a different mode, recordings fail. While still in Majestic / Echo, one must first return to normal FPS rate before attempting to capture footage in different modes. When in Tripod mode, one quickly realizes that the gimble has panning and tilt zones of about 7-degrees and is unable to find a resting place between these points. Also, when filming in automated slow motion (panning or tilt) one will notice a “pause” glitch in playback at every 7-degrees. The TimeLapse is weak as its simply video compression and nothing like a camera with an intervalometer. Maximum shooting time is 3h20m and mandates a compression of 100x. The battery indicator is poor and will still display two bars when device is dying. The first indication of dying will be Bluetooth drop when asked to perform an automated sequence.Solutions: Activate Filmic Pro, Movi and your camera feature during every use. Use Movi to set up the gimble and then use your camera and Filmic Pro to capture footage (is, set to Movi Tripod and then use your phone camera to take the shot). You still need to use Movi to capture automated manipulation footage. Conclusion: Get one. You’ll enjoy it. Most of the issues will likely be resolved with software updates.Future thoughts: Needs a physical stabilizer clip at the base of the smaller gimble arm for storage (else the arm and/or attached phone swing and bang around freely when being carried in a powered-down state)(I taped a piece of plastic on mine to create a retainer). Needs a “Locked-Arm Mode” where the stabilizer will hold a position relative to the base and NOT be stabilized (so one could rotate the base 10-degrees and expect the view to rotate the same 10-degrees). To reduce confusion, one could present all mode screens to be the same AND have the data apply to other modes (ie, changing to 4k in Majestic carries over to MoviLapse and Orbit Modes). Likewise, the top of each screen would be identical (and carry over) with the non-usable aspects being “greyed out” in modes they don’t apply. An aside: I’m using the Movi Robot with a Huawie P30 Pro and Filmic Pro. The Filmic Pro Cinematography Kit does not work with this phone, but the other Filmic features do. Also, when on the Movi Robot, the wide-angle lens field of view includes the gimble and is unusable without zooming or cropping.

At the time of writing, hands-down, the best gimbal for mobile film-making.
This is the 3rd multi-axis gimbal i have purchased for mobile video and the Freefly is the best by far. The Movi app is solid. I use an iPhone X for shooting, with moment lenses. This device will produce exceptional results. Here are a few things to note for optimal use:- If you don't use attachment lenses, the Movi will work right out of the box.- If you use Moment (or other) attachment lens' on your phone, you will need the counterweight assembly. Before you scoff at the $70 additional dollars, know that this add-on will open up a lot of attachment options, and, the counterweight is incredibly well made. I was able to balance my iPhone X, in the moment battery case (with shutter), and a moment glass lens with the counterweight. Thats impressive balance for such a small device and simple add-on. If you try to use attachment lenses without a counterbalance, you will have mixed results.- Out of the box, you can shoot on majestic mode with little or no setup. Very straightforward. That said, you will need to practice with the app if you want to move to Ninja mode. The ninja mode options are incredibly impressive and really fun to play with.- the ergonomics, portability, durability of the device, and fit & finish of this device are the best I've ever seen on a portable gimbal.- the hood attachment is a wonderful add on feature for mics or lighting. really clever.- Will work as a basic gimbal with the camera app, moment app, or any app you want to shoot with, but you won't have the advanced shooting modes, or button controls you have inside the Movi app. Recommend using the Movi app for shooting most footage.- Wish Movi app included an anamorphic decoder in the app. They have a partnership with Moment so maybe this will happen. Either that, or Moment should incorporate support for the Freefly Movi in their app. I find myself shooting in the Moment app when i have their anamorphic lens on the phone so that i can do all my editing on the phone. Their app has a built in decoder. Footage shot in the movi app can be decoded by bringing the footage onto a computer for editing (which is probably most common). That said, for mobile film making, it's sometimes nice to keep all the footage on the phone.- The quick sleep feature is awesome.- The fact that the device can sit on a table without falling over is equally awesome.- Battery charge lasted a very reasonable time in my opinion. I have not really put it to the test yet though. All in all, I have very few complaints about this device. I also have a Lanparte 3-axis gimbal as well. It works great but lacks the balancing options in the Freefly Movi. I will give the Lanparte to my wife and kids for photo fun. If you use Moment, or other attachable lenses, shoot with multiple size iPhones, or change cases with any frequency, I know of no better gimbal for mobile filmmaking than the Freefly Movi.[I am not a brand ambassador for Freefly. I was not compensated for this review. I am a brand ambassador for Moment.]

Daher musste was neues her - nämlich dieses Gimbal!

In Großstädten überragend.

FACILE D'UTILISATION
Bonne autonomie.

It does the job right
Its worth it, you achieve what you want from it. Adding a balance counterweight to the gimbal is abit challenging when you have a lens or a phone cover, but once you get it right it will be way less complicated after that.I give it 4.5 stars only because nothing is complete in this world
