A marvel of modern product engineering! Goes together like gym equipment. I had it up and running in about an hour. I'm still training our golden retriever puppy and our corgi puppy to use it, but I'm so blown away by the tread assembly quality and the ease of assembly that I'm leaving a review early. It costs about the same as an annual human gym membership, but it's for dog(s), and I expect this one will last years. Well worth it for our family, as I have ended up being too busy to provide more than about 45 minutes in walks per day and my husband sometimes can't take them out at all sometimes due to new to chronic illness flares. I may update in a couple weeks, as I'm sure our pups will love it once acclimated. Right now we are very happy with this!Edit 7/11/25: out corgi pup is all over this! She walks all on her own and appears to enjoy it a great deal :) she understood it immediately and uses it several times per week. This is essential in preventing destructive chewing behavior that had become problematic with her, and is now much more infrequent. Our golden pup is weirded out by the concept and needs a lot of encouragement, so we’re taking it slower with him. I think he will enjoy it eventually as much as our corgi does. We are extremely happy with this purchase!

I was a little worried that the quality would not be that good since the price was lower than the other slatmills, but I was completely satisfied. There was a chemical smell that disappeared after a few days, so don't worry about that. The most impressive thing about it was that it was SO MUCH quieter than the wooden slatmill my friend has. The quality is very good and easy to put together (it only goes together one way with the screws lined up). The instructions were lacking as we had some extra items but the wonderful support people gave me better instructions, were very quick and attentive to my questions and needs and willing to do whatever they could to make me happy. Some reviews were low, and I don't really see why. This is a great investment and great value. It is taking my dogs some time to get used to it but they like it. Make sure you lock the treads after you use it or they will jump up in it without you!

This Slatmill is a good value but buyer beware that you will need to make some safety modifications before use. The slats are slippery and the track does not lock into place. I tied a velcro band around the brake but it turned out not to be 100 percent effective. As a result, when one of my dogs jumped on the track it moved, he slipped and is now scared to try again. It will take time to work with him to get him to trust getting on it again. There is also a gap along each side of the track - between the track and the side rails - In my opinion, it's a safety issue. I have used a pool noodle to help keep my dog centered on the track and not slip into that gap. I have also ordered non skid tape to adhere onto the treads to prevent slipping and so the dogs have some traction. Otherwise, assembly was straight forward and pretty easy. The only confusion I still have is how to attach the dog to the top bar. There seems to be several different ways to do so - still trying to figure that one out.

My two Dutch shepherds love it. The quality is great and it’s a quick and easy way to wear out high drive dogs. I have also noticed muscle growth on both dogs already. The only issues I had was figuring out how to use the speedometer and having to zip tie the hand brake cable. It’s also fairly quiet and assembly was super easy. The “smell” from the machine is just the new plastic and it wasn’t a strong odor like the previous comment mentioned.

The mill is OK, and glides decently though not as smooth as glass.What I don't like about the mill is that the track is not very wide, and there is space between the track and the frame. One dog accidentally got his back paw in there and received a nasty slice to the side of his foot.

Open your box outside. let it air out and have access to the sun for a day. no more smell. The instructions say as much. This box will be big, you're buying a treadmill. This buy is so worth it, as long as you have a motivated dog. it will take time for them to adjust to the new experience and it might be scary at first. so go slow. I bought trac-tape to help avoid slipping and applied it to every other slat. I do wish the high of incline was adjustable but some solid blocks under the front allow for the desired height. I unfortunately had to return this for personal reasons, but I will be buying this one again should the opportunity arise. quiet run track (obviously can't run silently) overall a beautiful product they we're really considerate in adding the pedometer and the handbrake. helped my boy loose 10lbs while I had it!

Set up was not too bad. Not the best insurrections, but got the job done. Was surprised with how quiet it is! Once together, it was really easy to move around the room. I really appreciate that along with the hand break, there are break knobs to allow the track to be locked so I can get my dog used to jumping on and off before we began using it. Very happy with the purchase!
