TannoyReveal 502 5" Speaker, 75W RMS Power, Single

I replaced my KRK ROKIT 4" monitors with these and am very happy. I liked the KRKs very much. The sound is great but I had two main complaints with them: 1) they automatically sleep after a short amount of time and they have to be re-awakened by a relatively high volume input, which is pretty annoying during mixing and mastering. 2) I needed a bit more bass for mixing music. Compared to the KRKs (which are admittedly smaller speakers), these have a much fuller bass response and the sound quality is just as good. I will say the Tannoys are a bit "flatter", as many people mention, but this is exactly what you want for home studio mixing and mastering; the sound is super accurate (versus what seems like a bit more bass-push from KRKs). This translates into more precise mixes on multiple other devices. The stereo field is very consistent from multiple listening positions in the room, and they convey the warm subtleties of both digital and analog instruments. They're extremely well made--heavy and have a nice look and feel to them. And now that I have these slightly bigger speakers with such a full low end, I don't think I'll ever need more bass than this for my home studio purposes. Oh, and there is no problem with hiss in the new models, which was more common with the older versions of the 502s. If you need quality, accurate-response home studio monitors with ample bass, you can't beat these for the price! And they look pretty sick too.

If you really want to know what your mixes sound like, you need to try these monitors. I have been producing my own original music in my home studio for 10+ years and between these Tannoy speakers and my IK Multimedia Micro Monitors, I feel that I am hearing more accurately than most home producers. These are beautifully designed speakers and I can’t do them justice with words. You have to hear them for yourself.

I bought these to use with my digital music setup and and part of my DAW. I have to say these things blew me away with the sound quality. Super easy setup with BIG sound! Everything is studio quality for a fraction of what I have seen other equipment sell for. I was very surprised at the weight of these, I ordered a set of two but listing is priced for one so as not to be misleading. They weight a lot more than I expected which speaks to the craftsmanship and quality components . Delivery was prompt and arrived in perfect condition . I might add they look awesome as well. Highly recommend!

I've been following these monitors for quite a while. Found them to be extremely accurate and an awesome value for the money. Do yourself some research before investing in any pair of monitors out there... there are a lot of 'speakers' claiming the professional accuracy desired in the studio, but I've found very few live up to it. These definitely live up to it!

I bought a pair of these from Sweetwater. The hiss, a known flaw, was beyond annoying. I gave Tannoy customer service a chance to make good and they failed miserably. Weeks and weeks to return speakers that also hissed. So much happier with JBL LSR305 which I had a chance to compare side by side with the Tannoys at home. It was no contest in sound and sound stage.

Well to begin with, I went to buy Yamaha HS 5 after much online research, But the store manager suggested me to check Tannoy Reveal 502 along with HS5. I had never heard of Tannoys but completely blown away by the sound. I asked for a day to do some more research and bought it without any second thoughts. I am a singer/songwriter and it prefectly suits my need. however I heard they are even good for Mixing.Tannoy Reveal 502s sounds crisp and clear, the base is good considering 5 inch monitors, Mid and highs are good. Not to bright or muddy just perfect.In comparison with Yamaha HS5 which was bit muddy and have boosted up mid frequencies. The looks are not great but it didnt matter me much.There are not many reviews about these but they are fantastic monitors, in this range. There had been initial complaints about hiss sound but that has been corrected as confirmed by Tannoy support team .Overall its great monitor, best in this range.
