Still the most powerful software of its type. Very Stable. I don't like the cloud subscription as well as the old license model.
Photoshop is still the standard in heavy duty photo & digital imaging editors. I continue enjoy using it. The latest iteration is stable, but you may have some issues with it with some print drivers. I don't use Lightroom very much, so I will concentrate on Photoshop. Adobe Bridge continues to be a very useful organization and search tool. After 25 years of using Photoshop, I can say this is the best version yet, so why not five stars? Adobe is no longer the outstanding customer oriented company of old (but who is?). They still make an excellent product, that they continually improve. I don't agree with the subscription only model they have chosen, and would prefer a model more like Microsoft, where you can go either way, subscription or license. For those of us who use Photoshop only a couple hundred hours a year, the cloud subscription model is very expensive and the constant new features presents a steep learning curve. Also their customer service appears to be off shore. In the past the very few times I needed customer support I felt like I got terrific support from American based support specialists. I guess Adobe needed to reduce the cost, but they also reduced the usefulness of the support. That all being said if you do any professional imaging whether full time or part time, you have to at least consider PS for your primary editor. Also Photoshop has the most useful color management system and can work in many different color spaces. After you get the hang of it, Photoshop is still the most powerful imaging software on the planet. Others are coming along though. Keep an eye on Alien Skin. Alien Skin Exposure may be nipping at PS's heals in just a few more iterations. Also Coral makes a very good photo editor.

Subscription & NOT user friendly!
I had the old original Adobe Photoshop software installed on my computer. My computer died so I need to buy it again. Found out Adobe Photoshop ONLY sells year long subscriptions. Annoyed but I use Photoshop for my business so a necessary thing. I've used the original program for years. This subscription Adobe Photoshop was different and NOT user friendly. Plus many of the tools I used all the time on the old version were hidden or not existent. I also did not like how tiny the wording and icons were. I will NEVER purchase this program again.

For what you get, the value is pretty great, but.....
Don't get me wrong, $10 a month is still probably better than the hundreds of dollars we used to pay for Photoshop in years' past, but for those of us who *only* need Lightroom, the whole cloud thing just isn't that great. As a photojournalist, I don't really need the in-depth editing power of Photoshop, so in the past, I had just bought the standalone version of Lightroom and skipped access to Photoshop.Unfortunately, that left me a few versions behind Lightroom CC, and with Adobe looking to completely get rid of standalone LR in the future, I figured I'd get ahead of the curve and finally subscribe to CC.Obviously it's a minimal cost, considering my main income is via photography, but it's still not great having many of my edits locked behind a subscription service, if I ever decide that I want to leave or if Adobe decides to raise prices at some point.Still, the apps included in the subscription are excellent. Lightroom is my favorite cataloging/rapid editing software and does literally everything that I'd really need to do as a photojournalist (aside from export in CMYK, which I do need every so often). Photoshop does everything else, and while I don't use it, it is nice to have that power around every so often.Bottom line, it's worth it, with caveats. The software is powerful, but I'm just rubbed the wrong way a bit by not actually "owning" it.

Does Not Work and No Refund
Installed Lightroom classic, Lightroom cc, and Photoshop cc. on Oct. 4, 2018After spending two weeks familiarizing myself with the programs, studying videos and Adobe help sites to set the programs up, tweaking the preferences and settings as best I could, I could not get Lightroom or Photoshop to run smoothly. Local editing tools were painfully slow and cause freeze ups and crashes.I also upgraded my PC to 8GB ram (from 6) and installed a faster video card. These did not improve the situation.I am currently stuck with a one year subscription to programs that do not work.I realize that some will suggest that I upgrade my equipment, but my PC is already maxed out, would have to buy a new computer. Besides, I researched system requirements and thought I was well within Adobe recommendations.Anyone considering the Creative Cloud Photography plan should consider a month to month subscription instead of this 1 year subscription. That way, if it doesn't work out, you can still get a refund.Another thing that I have learned: If you have a problem and want a refund, Adobe will not deal with you because "you bought the product from another vendor" . I think this is bogus, but It might be wise to buy directly through Adobe instead of Amazon.

Cheapest way to get Photoshop and Lightroom
While not cheap, this is the cheapest way to get Photoshop CC and Lightroom (Classic and CC). Before buying this make sure you really need the full version of Photoshop as the Elements version is much cheaper (I used Elements for years before getting this). Also, note that this is one year worth of service. Photoshop used to be a one-time fee but was much more expensive. Photoshop CS6 Extended was $999. While this is a reoccurring fee in the long run it's not terrible considering it takes over 8 years of subscription to reach the old upfront price. The old upfront pricing also didn't give you Lightroom, cloud storage, or free upgrades. I did end up changing plans after a month to the CC All Apps student plan. It is more expensive but gives all the Adobe CC apps. If you just need Photoshop and Lightroom, this is the perfect plan.
