Stylish, good quality, good price and made in Switzerland
I fitted the Pletscher Comp Zoom 40 to my Felt QX70EQ men's hybrid bicycle. It took me about 20 minutes to fit it and increase the length. I needed two Allen Keys, one for the two bolts that attach the kickstand to my bicycle frame and the other to loosen the two bolts that attach the plastic foot to the metal part of the kickstand. At first, I did some research into what kickstand would fit my bike and discovered my bike takes a KSA 40 standard type kickstand. It means the distance between the hole centres for the bolts which attach the kickstand to my bicycle frame is 40 mm. So I could have chosen any KSA 40 type kickstand but I chose this one because it looks stylish, robust, good quality and was cheaper than the others I saw. It is also made from aluminium, which is lighter than steel but is still strong enough to withstand the weight of my bicycle. My bike weighs 15.45 kg and I think the stand is suitable for a weight of up to 18 kg. I wanted a matt black kickstand so it would match my bike. The other one with a metallic finish would not have looked good. I fitted the kickstand using the two large countersunk bolts which came with my bike. So I did not need the two bolts and spring washers that were supplied with the product. It was a bit fiddly to increase the length of the kickstand. I removed the two small bolts and locknuts that connect the plastic foot to the metal part. I could not get the locknuts in the correct position to tighten the bolts but I succeeded eventually. The locknuts slide into two square holes in the side of the plastic part. The product came with minimal packaging. It was mounted to a piece of cardboard with some black plastic cable ties. I removed the ties with a utility knife easily. There are some diagrams on the back of the piece of cardboard which were not clear or particularly helpful. I think the instructions are the same for multiple models such as the COMP ZOOM 18, COMP ZOOM 40, COMP FLEX 18 and COMP FLEX 40. I would have preferred specific instructions for the COMP ZOOM 40. I went to the website at www.Pletscher.CH and looked for information on the product before I bought it. It took a while to find this particular model, the Comp Zoom 40. I found it listed under rear kickstands rather than the centre kickstands. I found these specifications for the Comp Zoom range: Applications Rear Kickstands Spring for side movement Dampening of the stay Fatigue test for spring mechanism Expendable in 7.5mm steps Aluminium die-cast GD-AlSi9Cu3 Delivery Mounting hardware optional Material Powder coated black / metallic - silver Plastic Kickstand Shoe with large surface Pin hardened steel, zinc plated Screw M5 / M6 Specifications Strut length L1 26"-29" expandable max. Strut length 29" Weight 276g max. Load 18kg I could not find any installation instructions in English. There were only images of the different types of products and the specifications. Overall, I think the Comp Zoom 40 is a bargain and it is made in Switzerland. I would rather buy a product made in Switzerland than China. The product is of a good quality and I think it will prove to be reliable. It is a stylish design. The disadvantages are that it did not come with any instructions either on the packaging or the website in English. The diagrams on the packaging are intended to be universal for the English, French and German language markets but I did not find the diagrams particularly useful or helpful.

Sturdy, chunky, great stand.
Perfect fit for my Carrera Subway E. The frame already had a mount for a stand of this type with countersunk holes 40mm apart. Fitting was a doddle, the stand has threaded holes and comes with two 6mm bolts. Will replace them with countersunk ones for a cleaner look. Stand is super sturdy and chunky and really supports the bike well. Makes things so much easier, no more propping it up against a wall. Definitely recommend.

Excellent bike kick stand
This is the second Pletscher kick stand that I've purchased for my bikes. This particular one for my E bike, a Carrera Subway. It fits perfectly, bolted to the frame, no adjustment necessary to the leg! I'm sure it'll stand the test of time as it's a well built item. A necessary item for an expensive E bike.

Ideal accessory for an electric bike
Excellent stand. Seems very strong even for a heavy electric bike. Easy to use and fit. Not used a stand before, but can now see the advantages and would definitely recommend.

Nice and strong
Great stand, strong, good adjustment, I did have to drill another hole to fit my e bike, my fault I didn't bother measuring the holes on my bike, but it was an easy modification, otherwise great stand for the price, very happy 😊

Excellent Bike Stand
This is an excellent rear fitting bike stand. Looks like it will be too big - but actually fits really wel. And easy to attach (if you have pre-existing holes). Fitted to a XL Carrera Crossfire 2 Hybrid and also to a small women’s Carerra Crossfire 2 - we just wish we had bought them earlier as would have saved on scratches to bike frame. Really good when you stop for a break and flick the stand down. What you have never had you never miss - but this is now an essential bit of kit for our future bikes.

Way too long for my 700c wheeled bike
Bought two of these to fit to a Whyte Stirling V2 and Whyte Ridgeway, both have the 40mm mounting bracket on the chain stay and shod with 700c wheels and tyres. The item description says it fits bikes with 700c wheels, it doesn't work on our bikes. The supplied stand is too long! It's was still too long with the plastic shoe removed and the bike propped up directly on the stand. In this configuration the bike was not stable at all. Photo of the back of the holding card says "Comp 40 Zoom L" so I guess it comes in differing lengths as this is the "L". It doesn't say there anywhere in the product description. As I had cut the stand off the backing card and fitted it, I was committed to making it work for me. Drilled more adjustment holes further up the stands leg, then cut off the bottom 1.5" of the stand to allow it to accommodate the plastic shoe at a height that would make the stand work for my bike and for it to "stand" properly. Not a biggie, but the supplied hex head M6x20 screws do not sit right or look good on my bike. Like most bikes with a factory fitted stand bracket, they have counter sunk holes for flush fitting flathead screws. Soon remedied with shorter flathead ones and not the protruding hex head screws. I bought 2 of these stands, one is going back. I would NOT recommend this for anybody with a bike with 700c wheels and a factory fitted bracket on the frame, it will be too long.
