Accurate and affordable for home monitoring
I find this test to be accurate. However user error is probably more often the cause of incorrect readings and errors. Not always of course. If you are careful, and follow the instructions exactly I think you will get a accurate enough result to sufficiently monitor your a1c between lab work. The lancet is disappointing and sometimes does not puncture adequately. It can be tricky to push the blood collector and other part together firmly. The other surprising point is how many users complain about accuracy but even glucose monitors with test strips are not required to be exact there is an allowable percentage for them to be deemed sufficient. It is convenient, reasonably priced and the more you use it the easier it is to use.

An easy, convenient, accurate, and timely way to keep up with changing A1c.
I did self check 2 weeks before lab test and the results were within 0.1 of each other. Simple, convenient, and easier than getting done at the doctors office. The directions are a bit complex for the first time.

Make sure to shake the test unit a bit!
I am frequently testing my A1C since I have a DOT physical renewal coming up. I'm a type 2 with absolutely horrid blood sugars. But in recent times I overcame my food addiction and learned to take better control of my blood sugars. Thankfully 3 out of the 4 tests worked and represent the efforts of my diet change. The 1st test failed. After reading some advice to shake the unit itself a little bit after injecting the blood sample. I haven't had any issues ! Awesome test. Since an A1C costs around $45 where I live.

3 out of 4 tests were errors when following instructions exactly
The company did provide me with a full refund so kudos for customer service but I still wouldn't recommend these. Edit after using the last three tests: 3 out of 4 tests were errors when following instructions exactly. Too much blood sample - how is that even possible when using the included sampler? A total waste of money! * * * Easy enough to use if you follow the instruction sheet. We'll see how accurate the results are when I get back to my doctor in a couple months. If it's within 10% I'll be happy. I'll update when I get lab results. The reason I left only 4 stars is this device creates a LOT of waste! I'm not sure why the meter itself can't be used with refill test kits. The only reason I can think of is it makes the manufacturer more money (like inkjet companies). But tossing the meter out after four tests creates a lot of e-waste (the electronics and battery). Not to mention all the other plastic waste with the meter itself, the lancet, sampler, cartridge, pouches, etc.

Accuracy is just OK
I bought these, along with a two-test pack of Walgreens A1c tests. Theoretically, the look to be from the same manufacturer, however I found the A1cNow version to have some accuracy issues. It's seems to read .3 - .4 high over the Walgreens version, confirmed via a lab A1c test shortly after doing a comparison, which matched the Walgreens version exactly. I used both Walgreens tests over the course of two months or so, and a similar number of the A1cNow tests, and this discrepancy was borne out over all tests. So, these are OK, and are fairly easy to use, but if you think the results don't match your expectations, maybe you got a bad batch? Pros: * Pretty easy to use, if you're used to finger sticks * Results are read pretty quickly (5 mins) Cons: * Kind of expensive, but that's the case with all home A1c tests * Accuracy is somewhat suspect, but not hugely out of whack (.3 - .4) * Lancet device is junk - it either misfires (one-shot), or hits way too hard. Use your own lancets.

A1C Test Worked Great!
This test worked perfectly for me. I followed the steps as shown on the website video, and it worked exactly as described! I thought my blood sugar had gotten high, so I had peace of mind from seeing that it was just slightly higher than the last a1c test I had at the doctor!

It is pretty accurate!
This is a good product. I purchased it three times in the past two years. The reading comes out close to the lab result. Mainly I use it to monitor my blood glucose. If the current reading is higher than the previous reading, I adjust my diet and exercise.
