Triple bill of British comedy dramas. In 'Fever Pitch', Paul's (Colin Firth) passion for all things footie-related and Arsenal in particular causes problems in his lovelife. His girlfriend Sarah (Ruth Gemmell) wants him to show as much commitment to her as to his beloved team, but it's no easy matter, especially as the Gunners are involved in the most exciting championship race for years. In 'Brassed Off', a North Yorkshire colliery band, led by Danny (Pete Postlethwaite), prepare for a national competition, despite the fact that they are faced with redundancy if their pit closes. Gloria (Tara Fitzgerald), the daughter of a former band leader, returns to the band and raises their spirits. She begins a relationship with Andy (Ewan McGregor), but when the other miners vote for redundancy Danny collapses, and the band seem unlikely to make it to the competition finals at the Albert Hall. 'She'll Be Wearing Pink Pajamas' is a humourous and revealing tale of a group of eight women from varying walks of life, who have volunteered for a rugged survival course at a tough mountain school in the English lakes. Julie Walters stars as Fran, single and cheerful but also a bit lonely. After a week of outdoor pusuits the team learn slowly about courage, hope and fear in tests of guelling conditions.
