Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years Thor: The Dark World Thor and Sif

The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to shine and as it completes its 10th anniversary, Hasbro finds it more than appropriate to release action figures of its various films. Given how some of these films never actually released action figures at the time, it’s long overdue. Having seen Thor the Dark World and loved it, it surprised me at the time that Hasbro never released action figures featuring this movie, Iron Man 3 got two and Captain America Winter Soldier was going to release several figures. If the rumors were true, then it was probably due in part to creative differences that prevented Hasbro from getting started. Still, children got toys of Thor 2 but not the more detailed figures of Marvel Legends. It took MCU’s 10th Anniversary collection and it's well worth the wait. Thor looks exactly how he does throughout the movie action sequences. Marvel Legends has already released several Thor action figures, this one seems to resemble a version that was released around the time of Avengers Age of Ultron. This one has differences around the arms, as they are armored, with a more detailed face and golden-brown hair. The figure is big at around 6.875 inches tall and decent articulation in its legs, arms, waist, and head. Although the cape does get in the way at times, sadly it cannot be removed. The figure, of course, comes with his trusty hammer Mjolnir. Sif is wonderful as this is her first actual Marvel Legends release. Looking very much like actress Jaimie Alexander. Appearing as she does whenever she’s in battle in splendid detail from her armor to the tiny mole under her eye. This figure lines up at an even 6 inches tall, but the articulation around her legs is at odds with her battle skirt which is a little too tight to move around and cannot be removed. Her arms still work fine. The figure comes with her sword one a completely solid sword half, the other is twin swords that she can wield at the same time or fuse together at once. Also a nice little shield. SHIELD, get it? Very nice set, happier with Sif despite her flaws, especially since she’s appeared in not just two movies but in two episodes of Agents of SHIELD. Very good.

I've had terrible luck with Thor figures, I've bought 3 of the Infinity War Thor & had to return all of them because their shoulders were stuck & the one's forearm was glued on backwards so needless to say I was hesitant about buying this set & waited until the price came down. When I saw that it was down to $23 on Amazon I gave it a chance & boy am I glad I did. Thor himself is fantastic, well painted, tight joints, great sculpt. The only issue I've had so far with Thor was that the hinge in his right shoulder was so tight I could hardly move it but I fixed him by putting a tiny bit of Palmolive on the hinge & moving it around a few times. Lady Sif is a nice figure too but in my opinion kinda boring, she's also very well painted & sculpted though she does have slightly loose left knee joints. Over all aside from the fact that any release could have a bad batch I don't think anyone could go wrong with this set. They're just great.

Great deal and set for marvel legends collectors. Great Thor and sif figures. These look great and make a great display set for your marvel legends sets. Definitely worth the price if you can find one at a good deal!

Love the Sif figure. Thor is ok, I'm just tired of Marvel Legends making Thors. So many build a figures. Headsculpt is different on this one too, can't switch heads. Shoulder movement is a tad infringed.

My son absolutely loves Thor he moves very well and my daughter loves the girl too and now she plays with her big brother.... poor brother lol

They are perfect. I bought them for my 5 year old nephews birthday and he loves them.

Packing was what you would expect from a Marvel figure. Was a great gift, even if slightly over priced, but got moneys worth

En su momento no pude adquirir el 4-pack de Age of Ultron que incluía a la primera versión de este Thor así que conseguir esta versión con armadura en los brazos me vino muy bien, fuera de eso, Lady Sif que finalmente recibe una figura del UCM es increíble, desde el detalle en el esculpido de la cara y lo hermosamente diseñada que está su armadura además de sus Espadas y Escudo la convierten en una figura excelente. En definitiva es un set que vale la pena.
