The Fashion Book

This book has been an amazing reference for me. Not only does it speak about several different important icons, but it gives you a little bit of history on SEVERAL different designers and their stories in short. This book by no means is ALL inclusive, but for the everyday reader its sure to teach you a bit you didnt know. You may find yourself new designers you've never heard of , and learning facts about designers that you may not have already known about. This mini is quite a wonder and a great coffee table or office book. I leave it in my studio in the waiting area and people ALWAYS comment on how much they love it. GREAT buy on my end.... I'm so pleased !

Product was fine. But I gave it 4 stars because I was planning on using it as a coffee table book, but the color was more of a cream than white. Looked a bit worn out, wouldn't describe it as "excellent" as described by seller.

This is a flawless example of beautiful, mesmeric art. Not only does this book capture the ongoing development of fashion through the years, it presents the designers, photographers, makeup artists, and even fashion retailers who made these pieces come to life. Phaidon has always impressed me with the quality of their books, along with the meticulousness they put into choosing the perfect photos for their final product.

I like that the book is in tact and all the pages are still in place. There are no major dents, scruffs, or damages, but the front cover was disappointing to see.

The book itself is fabulous. I love reading through it and all my guests love looking through the pictures when they're over. (I have it on my coffee table in my living room). However, I was a bit sad, and disappointed when the book arrived with the front and side cover paper ripped and some what stained. I did order this book used, because that was the only buying option available. But each description said the book was "good" or "acceptable". I guess, since I obviously haven't returned it that it is "acceptable" but I was looking forward to the book still being more presentable. I was also a little bummed that there was a price sticker stuck to the side of the book, right over the word "fashion" and since I obviously didn't want that to be exposed I was forced to as gently as possible, peal that sticker off which caused the paper to write a little.. Besides that.. I am happy with the book! But I would not buy this as a gift for someone.

I just love this book , its great for the beginner to advanced fashion lovers. I also as a designer have to say if you're a designer , stylist and blogger , this is a major must have.

The best coffee table decor item. This is so much better than the newer version!

Didn't come with this cover so I don't use it. Bad purchase

when this book was published it was a large hardback book when it arrived it was a little pocket sized paperback which you can hardly see, the book centres around so called celebrities not even fashion desgners waste of time and money

Had to return the book. It was not what I ordered. I received a pocket size book compared to the measurements listed in the description.

This book exists in two formats, regular and mini - I bought a mini one as it is easier to manage and I do not consider myself so much or a fashion addict that I would need very detailed pictures (if you are a lover of photography or are searching for inspiration for your designs, do invest into the regular size - it is spectacular and absolutely worth the money). I love the idea of the book and the format, the only minus being the lack of information on some entries - sometimes it seems, that although there is so much known of a specific designer/photographer/modeö, the author didn't know what to include so the entry is just pointless and gives no information.

Great little read. Nice small size and gives you a great starting point to learn about the important Fashions from history.

This is an A to Z guide for fashion personalities (not just fashion designers, but makeup artists, photographers, celebrities, ...). The only problem is the descriptions! They chose a photo for each personality and mainly described that photo only! I thought it'd be more like a short bio of each... Kind of disappointed! But if you just want to find out fun fashion trivia, this might be good!
