Shenmue I & II - Xbox One

I loved these games when they first came out, and have revisited them every few years since. Every criticism you've heard of these games is true; they can be incredibly mundane and dry. Still, I find them just as tranquilly immersive as ever. I can't recommend these games to everyone, but if Shenmue sounds like a series that interests you, then this is no doubt the best way to experience it.The team that did the remaster did some great work, here. Loading times were a huge issue on the Dreamcast originals, especially the second game which featured more complex areas and they're nearly instant now. The original graphics are now in high resolution, and much better and more readable fonts were applied for the subtitles and menus. Unfortunately, I ran into several new bugs that were not in the originals that required me to reload the game. Also, while the game defaults to widescreen, all cut scenes go back to the original 4:3 by default. i found the contstant switching to be jarring, but thankfully, there is an option fo play the entire game in the original format.Recommended

It has been updated (graphics/user interface) for modern Xbox One technology. Contains both the Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2 (from Dreamcast and Xbox). Upgraded for 2018 (nearly 20 years after Dreamcast launch) - amazingly beautiful to this day. If you loved Shenmue and the Dreamcast AND have a Xbox One - GET IT! Comes with double sided beautiful collector's edition poster!

I bought this game because i never got to experience the Saga Dreamcast and so far i am not disappointed, the game brings back memories of playing the old gen consoles but with smoother crisp and fluid gameplay. The story it self is addictive and feels like a really good old schools detective kung fu movie and i love it!

I still own my NTSC Shenmue 1 for Dreamcast, and both the pal dreamcast Shenmue 2 as well as the NTSC original xbox version of Shenmue 2, that's right, I bought Shenmue 2 twice back in 2002, because both Shenmue 1 and 2 are that good, and now I've bought the HD remasters...…..unfortunately, the audio in the remasters sounds overly compressed, and I've experienced a couple of crashes that I have never experienced on the previous releases, so I simply can't rate it perfect, however the games are still awesome, and I'm glad they got this re-release for a new generation to experience the epic 1980's journey of Ryo in his quest for vengeance.

Una excelente historia de un joven buscando venganza. El juego es en su mayoria un drama donde Ryo (personaje principal) busca information sobre el asesino de su papá. SHENMUE 1 estreno en Sega Dreamcast y Shenmue 2 en Xbox y aun así no molesta las graficas de ambos juegos. Shenmue 2 tiene un 'gamplay' mas movido y el mundo es mucho mas grande que el 1. Si te gusta Los juegos con buena historia, definitivamente ambos juegos son buena opcion.

It is nice not having to use my originals! That being said the audio in the first shenmue is worse than it was on dreamcast. The second sounds good. The game crashed 1 hour in after I had been collecting action figures.... sooo... I lost them all and some progress.

I got this as a gift for my brother. We played it all the way through together on the Dreamcast back in the day (well - he played and I mostly watched haha) - and he was so happy when I gave it to him! This game was so ahead of it's time when it came out - excited to see if it lives up to my fond memories of the hours we spent playing it together. So happy this was released for Xbox One!!

Bought this game, just got around to opening it to play it. Found I was shipped a bad, warped disc that can not be read or installed. Since I waited to play, I'm SOL because I'm past my 30 days. This is the end of my buying games on Amazon.

This is QTE's done right, missing a button prompt has real consequences. Games designers nowdays like to pretend they're doing the same thing as Shenmue when they make you mash random buttons in cutscenes but it couldn't be further from the truth. Shenmue is still totally unique in its execution and I wish more people in the industry would actually pay attention to what this game does.If you want to see some of the formational moments of gaming history and you really like the idea of Roll Playing as an ordinary person in an ordinary Japanese town then this is a must have title.

La experiencia de compra en Amazon: Satisfactoria, muy satisfactoria, como siempre. Pero lo mejor de todo es la magia que ha traído de regreso a mi corazón este videojuego. Lo recomiendo a los nostálgicos, aunque no tanto a los nuevos jugadores, porque no creo que lo encuentren tan maravilloso como lo era hace dos décadas.

Como podría describir a esta joya de los videojuegos, sin dudas trae excelentes recuerdos,llegue a jugar el 2 en xbox el primero lo conocí por un DVD que tenía, quería jugarlo y justo apenas se me hizo realidad, llego en un sobre en perfecto estado,como siempre excelente servicio por parte de Amazon.

Haven't played shenmue I since 2005 on the original xbox, i finished but never got to finish the second one i have seen my elder cousins finish it and just really wanted to play but of course other things distracted me.Gonna love re-playing this on Xbox one! Now i can finish the second after all these years ;-;Can't wait to see shenmue III get released for xbox one, fingers crossed ladies and gents!.Overall Shenmue is amazing, has an interesting open world, and is/was a great experience i can re-play again and has held a great place in my life for gaming!
