In a nutshell:Things I liked:+ Extremely easy to set up. It's a comprehensive play set considering its the small footprint. This could be considered a positive or a negative, but on reflection I found the smaller size to be more of a benefit than a problem as it's easier to store and to tidy away after playtime.+ Construction is absolutely great. I'm happy that the build quality is good and I'm also happy that it is compatible with other Thomas and friends track sets.+ Would be absolutely fab for younger children. They'll need a little bit of help setting it up but when it's set up, it's really engaging.+ Very decent value at the current price of under £23.Things I didn't like:- Nothing really. Please do be aware though that it's not the largest play set in the world and that you might need to help your child set it up.Do I recommend it?Yes, absolutely. It's a really decent value set with lots of engagement.

This Thomas and Friends train set is well-made and the toys are good quality. The train is powered by 2 x AAA batteries which are not supplied. Thomas and Friends is my little girl's favourite cartoon and she loves this train set so much. She spend a lot of time building and rebuilding the track, and play with the lift and load construction. It is priced at £19.99 at the time of review, which I think is reasonable considering the design and quality. Highly recommended!

The following is my own real-world experience of using it.It comes as a comprehensive set which is very easy for little hands to put together; the track can even be configured in other ways, and used with other trains from the 'Trackmaster' set - great for expansion and inspiring creativity.Having gifted the set to my little one, I have watched them really enjoy the 'lift and load' part of the set, while Diesel rolling around the track has also been appealing. Once finished, it's easy to dismantle and store, too.In summary, I believe that this is a good value item.

My toddler loves this little train set. It takes a little bit of time to put together as the tracks are all separate, but the instructions are provided, or you can use the picture on the box to help.There's the train track, the train, the two barrels and the back of the train. To motorise the train, unscrew the bigger screw and sort of unwedge the black underside from the rest of the train. It will then take 2 x aa batteries (not supplied). Once put back together and screwed on, you can use the red lever at the top to turn it on and off. Its quite speedy I think.The loading and offloading due to the speed can be quite tricky but it's all part of the fun.There's extra track which gives opportunity to attach more rail if you have it, which is good.

Very nice train set, battery life is very good. I did have some issues with the train track coming a bit loose during lots of play from the children, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. The sound isn't too annoying either (though it gets repetitive when it's on for a long time). Easy setup and no major issues.

My five year old nephew loves this train set, as he is a big fan of Thomas The Tank. It is easy to put together and even he can do it now, so he has hours of fun playing with Thomas & his friends. Recommended for younger kids.
