Awesome for cleanout clean out
Works great for cutting through the roots in the front yard line. Our house has a section of clay pipes in the front yard going towards the city main line. Every year like clockwork, small hairlike roots grow into the pipe and eventually cause a clog and $$$$ for a plumber.I am now on a routine of running this through the pipes every 6 months, followed up with a dose of foaming root kill.So far so good!

Excellent tool.
I bought this cutter to go with the other cutter fro my Rigid drain cleaner to remove recurring tree roots. I use the smaller cutter first to punch a hole in the roots in the pipe and then this one to open the pipe back up to full capacity. This has been a great tool already and have used it several times since buying. it paid for itself the very first use. A plumber or professional rooter service would charge me $200 or more to do what this did in 5 minutes on my drain machine. Thank you Amazon for having this tool available and at a great price.

Solid and sturdy; a bit expensive.
This cutting tool is solidly built and sturdy.I used this cutter with a Ridgid K-380 machine to cut out some small roots in the 4" sewer line leading from the house to the street. This 2" cutter is slightly smaller than I would have liked, but I was feeding through a 3" cleanout pipe, so realistically the largest I could have used was a 2.5" and I could not find that size after a lot of searching. It worked well for cutting out the small roots up to 1/8" diameter in our sewer line. It is sturdy enough that it probably could get through 1/4" roots with some careful back-and-forth work with the snake. Larger roots than 1/4" I would guess not (though that depends partly on the size of the snake and how much force it can generate).Pros:- Well built.- Sturdy.- Attaches quickly and solidly to the Ridgid snake attachment end.Cons:- A bit expensive. Ridgid kind of has you over a barrel with their proprietary attachment system and the pricing. About $20 for a couple pieces of $1 metal screwed together? Oh, well.

Works great with K400 Drum Machine
Was experiencing a drainage issue and I suspected the issue could be related to tree roots after using a difference attachment. I initially used the "arrow head shaped" attachment to punch through the clog but it got a lot of resistance about 2/3 the length of the drum cable. I retracted the cable and switched the attachment to this one. After feeding the cable back in and reaching the approximate location where the first attachment stopped, I could see the cutter head interact with the roots by how the cable to pulsing back and forth. After clearing that out, I pushed the cable further, running into other roots, which were also cleared out. I ran the full length of the cable in my drum and my drainage issue is no longer a problem.

This help clear my main drain line of some fine hair roots
I used this along with my Ridgid K400 3/8 cable machine to clear out my main drain line that was becoming a little clogged up. I took some time. I went very slow and multiple times to make sure I got everything out of the line that I could. It seemed to cut through the roots and the roots then wrapped around the cable which actually made cleaning them off the cable easy. Basically just unwound the roots. This cutter worked better than the C cutter I bought as well. I think because this one is lighter and I do have the smaller cable on my machine. chances are come spring I will buy the next size up to rerun through my lines.

Great Addition to my Attachment Ring
This is a great option for the 3/8" cable on my Ridgid K400 rooter. I didn't think of sharpening the cutter as PaPatch states doing. Despite the lack of sharpening the cutter did it's job (perhaps slower than one that was sharpened). I used this with Roebic FRK-6 Foaming Root Killer. I applied the FRK-6 shortly after cutting the roots and the combination kept my sewer pipe free for months. I started to see some slowing after 3 months and used the root killer again without running the snake and things cleared up within several days. This cutter covers a decent cross section of the pipe so things start flowing again and the application of root killer retards rapid regrowth. I didn't incur the expense of a snake camera but I've read the roots subjected to the root killer eventually disintegrate or break away, leaving the pipe clear.A note on using a powered drum snake for those doing this the first time:I've settled into a practice of using a slow steady hand feed of the cable. You can feel when the cutter reaches the roots. Keep slight pressure on the cable and let the cutter do the work. When you break through keep going until you reach the main sewer line (if that is your configuration). There may be more than one point of restriction. With practice you will feel and hear when the cable and cutter enter the main line. Run the cable and cutter through the blockage points several times. You may be surprised at the resistance you experience on your second and third pass through places you believe were already cleared.

Good
I would assume works good in not hard application, but for my application (pipe was completely clogged, was a lot of roots and etc., even 1" end had a hard time to get thru and this 2" end would stuck all the time) but once I sharpened cutting edges (form outside to inside angle as sharp as a knife) - did a job as charm (do not forget to add more water in the sewage pipe), you can hear chop - chop and you'll be impressed how nice it does the job!
