Yes this may be THE Rolex book but it is badly let down by many typographical errors, most of which originated with the first edition and which have simply been left in the subsequent editions. Given the price, and the fact that this is otherwise a masterpiece of research, this is inexcusable. Examples: the upside-down photo in a chapter on the current models; important old photos are simply replaced with less interesting new ones (you can tell a new photo by the background which is part of a map)- why couldn't a couple of extra pages with the new photos be provided rather than remove others to make space; the later edition's price guide refers to an older model whose photo has been replaced with a different model; the chapter on current models has not been updated between the 2nd and 3rd editions but is simply copied. It seems that the most cursory updating has been done between subsequent editions simply to justify reprinting the old chestnut. I don't know what to believe as factual, there are so many typos. If I were one of the authors I would be really embarrassed. This book deserves better proofreading.

Wow, what a great book, It is VERY expensive and seems to go on and on about serial and case numbers. The history is short for such a large book, I have read better.Its about 12 years old now, so all models shown are now outdated.

I have been enjoying this book and will use it for reference in the future. As someone who is new to vintage time pieces this as been a great addition.

If you are interested in how Rolex got started and how it evolved as a watch producer with its many innovations and patents then this book will be of great interest to you.

The copy that I received was not new and the replacement was much worse. So had to return it too.Kindly beware while ordering one.
