Nov 2018 - Update that the ring is still still being used to treat the hoof boil and going strong. Boil has not returned, ring is still in good shape and no skin irritation. Highly recommend if your horse has a hoof boil!!Jan 2018 - After reading the other reviews, I purchased the ring for my horse's hoof boil. He has always worn the standard hoof boil boot which lasts around 6 months. I have to remove the boot every few days since it starts creating a skin irritation by his hoof. Plus the boot costs around $30 so this seems worth a try. So far, so good. It is light weight and doesn't irritate his skin; even better, his hoof boil has not come back. I honestly have to say I'm surprised this has worked so well. The construction is very basic (makes me think I could have made one!), but is does work. If this ever wears out, I would definitely purchase another.

This works to relieve my horses boil. It is half the size in a few months. It has not rubbed or irritated her pastern area.One huge issue is that the strap moves thru the tube easily. It is cloth ,flimsy cloth and ver tedious to hook. We had to rig some tape around each side to keep it from moving. It has come unhooked and lost in paddock two times now. It would be better with a leather strap or velco. I am having to rig something better. But it works!

I bought a pair to put on my gelding's hindfeet because he is suffering the effects of EPM. To make him more aware and not cross or interfere. They work well. The problem I had was the buckle broke. So I replaced the straps with Nunn finer rubber spur straps. Perfect. The are a bit stretchy, you have cut them,there colorful.

Love the design. Easy to put on /off. Without these, my gelding gets sores on his front fetlocks from falling down (narcolepsy). These are simple, inexpensive and soft & comfy! Very durable so fast. Have been using for several months with no tears, rips or injury. Although I did lose one of the nylon buckles & ant seen to find a suitable replacement.

I bought this for my horse because he developed a shoe boil. I read several reviews that even though it is not the intended use, other ppl had good luck with it for shoe boils. I put it on my horse. He doesn't not even notice it, and his show boil is now half the size in just a few weeks. I noticed he is developing one on the other leg, so I am buying another one. It is easy to put on and take off.

Really disappointed in the quality control of this product. The nylon straps have flimsy barely cut holes with a thin cheap buckle. I could overlook this except that one of them had a rough inner edge. Just two days of wearing them resulted in a penny sized open wound on her pastern that is taking forever to heal. I feel awful for her and frustrated by the lack of quality control.

This product was meant to prevent injuries but actually caused additional ones due to the hard edges of the rubber.

My horse was getting a large sore on her from laying down and having her hoof constantly hit the same area. A few weeks after putting this on her the sore is gone and she is back to normal. It’s not tight on the horse and does it’s job well!

I was not sure it would work being this small but it does, very easy to take on and off although I leave it on 24/7 on my retired gelding that's out in muddy, branchy and overall large yard. No rubbing and it seems to be comfortable for him.
