OPTION OF NINE DIFFERENT HEIGHTS 0.5"- 4.5" SURELY THE MOST VERSATILE PILLOW ON THE PLANET!
I received this yesterday and so far I am THRILLED with this pillow!I have been looking for ages for the thinnest pillow available and couldn't find one under 2" This pillow might be 2.5" but the inserts allow you to create a pillow (or even multiple pillows) that are either 0.5",1", 1.5", 2",(using the 4 inserts stacked) 2.5" (Using the single thick pillow by itself) or 3", 3.5", 4", 4.5" (stacking the 0.5" pillows under the 2.5" pillow)In the past I have slept with no pillow but that is generally out of desperation, as it isn't that comfortable for me to sleep with no pillow at all. It's ok when I sleep on my back but side sleeping was pretty much out. But desperate as I was, that was preferable to sleeping on pillows that were too high.I tried many different types of slim pillows from Amazon over the past few months (I have been on a mission) making sure all of them had good guarantees and return policies and unfortunately had to return them all as the second I put my head on them I could feel my shoulders and neck start to tense up because they were too high.A bit of background about my issues, in case anyone has similar issues. I have back and neck issues and had thoracic surgery 4 years ago and I frequently get headaches, backaches, neck pain and tight shoulders and have some pinched nerves. Once everything starts to lock up worse than usual, I can also start to get bad room-swirling vertigo due to my vertebrae pinching a nerve in my neck. At that point I have to go to an osteopath for adjustment a few times, so the vertigo stops. I mention that because in the past drs have tried to tell me I might have Menieres or other vertigo inducing disorders and wanted to send me for MRI's etc - but from trial and error I discovered my vertigo goes away with 2-3 osteopath treatments (neck cracking) and doesn't come back for months until I do something that causes my neck and shoulders to tense up again.Anyhow, in addition to the issues I had with pillows being too high, I also had an issue with my head sinking into them, which then held my head in that position during sleeping. I have tried loose fill pillows, memory foam pillows and latex pillows and I experienced the same issue with all of them. Once my head sunk into them, my neck was held in position during sleep and as I am often in pain, I don't toss and turn as much as others might, and so my head would be held in a certain position by my pillow for long hours during sleep meaning that my muscles would tense up even more. Basically I would wake up with a "crick in my neck" every morning. This LumaLife pillow sounded promising, even though it was also memory foam. I wasn't interested in the 2.5" pillow itself as I knew that 2.5" was going to be way to high for me but I got super excited over reading about the inserts! Last night I tried out 1-4 of them at a time and settled on 2 (which is only 1" of total height) In full disclosure, I did wake up in the morning a little tight in the shoulders but I always need some adjustment time when I change the height of my pillow, or start sleeping with no pillow before my muscles relax. I may need to go to the osteopath a couple of times while I adjust to this new pillow but I have no doubts whatsoever that I have found the perfect pillow for my very particular needs.NO other pillow on the market, that I have found (and I have searched high and low) is under 2"!!!Plus the medium density inserts feel quite firm to me because they are so thin, so there is little to no sinking into this pillow, so I won't be experiencing the issue with my head being held in a particular position during sleep. If I settle on 2 inserts, it means I will actually have TWO pillows that height and another pillow 2.5" high for another use (maybe for back support on the couch) all for the one price!!! Also as I receieved 2 zip covers, both of my 1" pillows (with 2 inserts each) can be inside a zip cover. I will just need to find another cover for the 2.5" pillow maybe to match the couch cushions :)The only improvement that I could possibly request is that Lumalife offers the inserts and pillow by itself for people who want to order extras without having to order a complete set each time. I knew when I purchased this pillow that I would not be needing the 2.5" pillow. It would have been nice to have been able to purchase 2 or 3 inserts by themselves. But in saying that, I am so excited to finally have a pillow under 2".Reading all the reviews of the many slim pillows on the market currently, it seems that there are a lot of people out there who want a pillow under 2.5" or even under 2"My advice to the company is NOT to describe this pillow as a 2.5" pillow in the description line, as that is why I took so long to find it. I have probably passed over it many, many times as I did not want a pillow that thick!Anyhow fellow customers, if you, like me, have been searching for a super-slim, medium pillow that you don't sink into. Look no further!!!If this review helped you in any way, please click the helpful button, as I spend a lot of time on my reviews, and its a great feeling knowing I helped someone :)

LumaLife is the pillow you leave on the bed after tossing aside the unnecessary decor pillows.
LumaLife Extra Thin Memory Foam Pillows fully live up to their name! This pillow is extra thin, maybe that throws you off at first, wondering if it will be enough - but leave that thought at the door when you pick up your delivery because this pillow is very comfortable and allows your neck to stay in alignment as you lay down. LumaLife is the pillow you leave on your bed after tossing aside the decorative, yet unnecessary throw pillows.

Ok & Flexible but Firm
It's OK, flexible height options. But main section is very firm for memory foam. Maybe it will loosen up overtime.

Finally found THE ONE after 15 tries!
This will be my first Amazon review because it is VERY NECESSARY. I want to say thank you, Luma Life, for creating a pillow with real quality. I have purchased & returned about 15 pillows in the last year trying to find the right one. I had 2 spinal fusions and recently attained a very sensitive head, neck & shoulders. So sensitive that I haven’t been able to sleep on a regular pillow for months, only laying on fuzzy, plush blankets. I haven’t slept right for months and I finally found this one. I love that you can adjust to the height that’s right for you. I can’t bend my neck too much forward, so the bigger pillow is enough for me without causing strain. I haven’t needed to use the little extra inserts but I like that I have them if I need them. The foam material is amazing, I can tell it was made with thought, for the shape of it is perfect for cradling my neck and doesn’t abruptly cut off at the bottom, instead, it sort of supports my shoulders a bit, too. I have gone through many pillows that promise comfort. I don’t think they’re trying to be liars because everyone is different and needs unique shaped pillows. But I will say that this one out of 15 other pillows, this is THE ONE.

Very disappointing, not worth the money
I was very excited to try this pillow, as I have been searching for a thin memory foam pillow that will not hurt my neck for years. Unfortunately, it did not live up to all the positive reviews. Minutes after laying on it, my head started to hurt. I thought perhaps it just needed to be "broken in," but ended up returning it after two days and a migraine. I had to see my chiropractor to adjust my neck after sleeping on this, and she said I was more out of alignment than she's ever seen. Perhaps it was just the one I received, but losing $15 to return shipping does not make me want to try a different one. Alas, the search continues.
