Good. Difficulty setting up the warranty in my name though.
Generally good, but a few points to note.+ve The screen is 1600 x 900. Not all E6430s offer this. As far as I can tell all the E6430-2395s do, though I've never found an official Dell spec for the E6430-2395.It didn't come with the following: fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard, webcam. (Not really an issue for me.)The hard drive (spec'ed at 128GB) only shows a capacity of 106GB. This may be partly down to different definitions of a GB and/or perhaps Dell have a separate volume to make restores easier. I've read the latter somewhere but haven't checked my machine. There was some difficulty getting the 3 year Dell warranty set up. The problem is that the machines are registered to the reseller that Amazon source their machines from, so when I tried to register on the Dell website it wouldn't allow me as it was already registered. Dell referred me back to Amazon, Amazon tried to refer me back to Dell but then relented and sent me out a replacement machine. This of course had exactly the same problem. 2nd time round, Dell were more helpful and finally got the machine registered in my name by contacting the reseller, I believe.Incidentally, I only get 2.5 years of the warranty as the warranty began when the reseller got the machine, *last summer*!Another minor annoyance is that the picture shown seems to be of a larger laptop. The screen bezel seems to take up proportionately less space in the pic than is the case with the 14" E6430. Consequently, the E6430 looks a little dated perhaps given the newer machines coming out with very thin bezels.Essentially though, I bought it for the good spec (SSD, upgradable memory, reasonable chip, reasonable screen res) at a reasonable price, and it's been fine so far. And the warranty with Dell might even come in handy!

Solid
Solidly built laptop with lots of ports and expansion possibilities, but with finicky BIOS (typical for Dell in my experience). The keyboard is very nice, touchpad and buttons can be somewhat unreliable. Screen is OK (1600x900 TN), bright and usable viewing angles, contrast and colors are unimpressive. Runs Linux OK if you make sure to enable Intel P-State drivers (add intel_pstate=enable to kernel commandline). Note that NVidia graphics is only connected to external display connectors. Overall a good value if you are looking for a solid non-windows-8 laptop.
