Wow what a portable little hob, perfect for our caravan.
The media could not be loaded. Wow what a portable little hob, perfect for our caravan.Ordered this to be used inside and outside our caravan, while we do have 1 electric ring in the caravan we do loose the work space while using it as we generally go to sites with power hook up and don't really use gas, with this we can place it on the cooker top lid and still use the surface of the cooker for prep work so this helps reclaim 3 quarters back, now in a caravan this is a lot of needed space.Being portable means it can be used outside the caravan also for heating up food that can not be cooked on a conventional BBQ or wood burning air cooker which we use.Power wise this being a 900 watt version has plenty of power to get food cooking fast, the touch control is very responsive and if touched in the right place by accident is very easy to change its setting if brushed past the control panel, would be nice to see a lock function for the control panel... may be pres power and lowest heat setting to turn on and off ?.FOr us this will be a welcome addition to the caravan and will definitely be used on a daily basis while out caravanning do a easy well deserved 5 stars for this superb product.

Good for occasional use
So this is really for occasional use, it isn't really suited for regular cooking due to its low power.I do find some of the photos a bit disingenuous, you aren't going to take this backpacking, as it requires a power source (and ferrous pans). As an extra though, or in caravans, this could be really useful. It is a nice size, for one or two people, and will allow you to prepare something basic and hot, or as an added hob for sauces or something at Christmas. It is a bit taller than I had expected.Nice little device, though, so long as you are not expecting something to cook amazing meals regularly,

Pretty quick to heat, performs well, very useful for travel and camping.
The media could not be loaded. This mini hob is perfect for travel.During testing it used very little power overall and you might expect it to be slow to heat but prepare to be surprised as it’s actually pretty quick. It’s ideal for travelling and hotel rooms and works with my power station which makes it perfect for power cuts and camping.I could indeed boil a litre of water in just over 15 minutes, it heats evenly and it works well with a pan size of around 6 inches. It has a wide range of temperature settings and it’s easy to adjust and maintain a simmer for example. If you use too large a pan you will activate the touch control, so you really can’t go over 7 inches, but when used correctly it performs well and is a perfect balance between functionality and portability.Although I can’t speak to longevity it is currently performing perfectly, is fairly priced in my opinion and looks very smart and stylish.I hope you find my review helpful.

NICE LITTLE HOB
Works well and is easy to use. The control shows two lights for each power level, and I find this to be a small annoyance. Why not one light? I keep waiting for four more levels of power to appear, one between each of the five levels of the hob. Good thing, pretty good price.

Small and efficient ~5" inductive heating
Pro: + Small size + energy efficient for low power situations (solar, emergency, RV, boondocking, etc.) + Good setting range 100W, 200W, 300W, 400W, 500W + Much faster and more efficient than resistive heating (stove/hot plate)Con: - No temperature control - lower power takes more timeI bought this mostly for emergency and portable situations where I'm running off a small generator (noisy), or a solar-powered BlueTTI EB3A battery (quiet). 500W won't overload the battery pack power output, or small generator. To test this unit, I filled a 1qt cast iron pot with 4 cups of water and turned it on "hi" (500W) to see what would happen. It got warm enough to steam/simmer, but not boil, if you leave the pot uncovered. If you need furiously boiling water, you will have to cover the pot with an appropriate lid to reach boiling. This and time to cook are the only difference 500W makes vs 1000W+. It took ~16 minutes for 1qt of cold tap water to boil over with a -covered- pot at 500W. This is pretty good performance. With normal stove top resistive 500W type heating, the battery pack is drained in 30 minutes before it barely boils.Next thing I tried is a 16oz can of soup. I pulled the lid off the can and set the can on the unit at 500W. It was only a minute or two until I heard soup boiling in the bottom of the can. So I turned the unit down to 400W, then 300W, then 200W and then the can started to boil over. What I found interesting is I did all this on a small lunchbox size EB3A portable power station battery. The can of soup used about 30% of battery power. The 1qt of boiling water used about 70% of the battery. In an emergency situation, the battery can be recharged in about 3-4 hours of sunshine from a portable solar panel.I can store this next to my emergency supplies and use it to make a not so wonderful hot emergency meal, which in an actual emergency where a hot meal will seem like luxury. What's an emergency? Earthquake, high winds, a car meets power pole at road speed event, where power can be out for hours, days, weeks, months.Or I can keep this inductive unit in the cupboard and use it to make a quick breakfast for one or two people. Or use it to keep something warm away from the kitchen.Performance does what I need for heating, saving battery power, convenience, and small size. I'm happy with this purchase.

works well with a couple caviots.
Power & Efficiency: Let's get the obvious out of the way: at 500 watts, the Mini Induction Cooktop isn't a speed demon. If you're looking for a fast-cooking experience, you might be disappointed. However, it works admirably if you're willing to give it a little time, making it a reliable option for those who prioritize other features like portability.Portability & Battery Compatibility: Speaking of portability, this cooktop really shines in that department. It's compact, easy to carry, and proved to be a lifesaver in hotel rooms during my last vacation. What's more, it works well with a Jackery portable battery, extending its utility to even more remote settings.Cookware Compatibility: I experimented with both a 1-liter titanium pot and an 8-inch frying pan. While the smaller pot was an excellent fit, the frying pan, despite heating evenly, had a slight hiccup: its larger base kept accidentally triggering the touch controls. This is likely due to the controls being positioned too close to the cooking surface.Controls & User Interface: The touch controls are sleek and modern, but they do come with their own set of challenges. First off, the buttons emit a loud beep when pressed or when the cookware is removed, which can be annoying. More importantly, their proximity to the cooktop means larger pans can inadvertently activate them, disrupting the cooking process.Despite a few quirks, the Mini Induction Cooktop does its job well, especially considering its modest power rating. Its portability and compatibility with portable batteries like the Jackery make it a solid choice for travelers or those with limited kitchen space. If you can overlook the control design and have a bit of patience, it's a very handy appliance to have.

Made coffee in 7 minutes
I just received this induction cooktop so I made coffee and a fried egg to see how long it would take. It boiled 12 oz cold water in 7 minutes, took 1 minute to heat a 5-1/2” square cast iron skillet and 6 minutes to fry an egg “over-easy”. This was done in a garage at 40 deg F. or 5 deg C. My Bluetti EB3A power station showed that the meal required 130 watt-hours. Very impressive! I highly recommend this induction cooktop for camping or kitchen backup during a power failure.

Nice, small, effective
This little induction heater is just what we needed for making one or two servings of chai at once. It's powerful enough to seem quick, and the burner surface is small enough to accommodate the tiny pot the wife uses for this purpose. No complaints. I'd welcome a more temperature-resistant cord, based on how we use the thing, but that's a quirk of how our kitchen is set up - not sure how many others would have to route it by something else that gets hot. I'd buy this again (though hopefully won't have to - several months in and no issues so far).
