snap, snap, snap 3 watches fixed in seconds!!
I have decided to try to replace my own watch batteries. I own several watches, and to take them to the jewelers for a new battery seemed like a waste of time and money. So I ordered batteries from Amazon.com. I removed the backs of my 4 watches with great difficulty. But I did manage. Then when it was time to snap the backs back on, only one of 4 would snap. Again with great difficulty. For the other three simple snap on backs I tried even pressure from my thumbs plus the extra thumbs of my husband. I tried standing on my watches, using pliers, using a hammer and socks, and placing the watch backs in the freezer. NOTHING worked. So I searched around and found this watch press. I figure all I have to lose is time if the press doesn't work, I can send it back.No directions on the press, but it is rather obvious how to use. The 12 discs that came with the press fit my 3 watches. I put the appropriate discs on the little metal press, and squeezed the handle. Little pressure and sure enough... SNAP! The back was firmly in place. I could not believe it. So I did the other two watches in seconds. I am totally amazed at how this tool made my 3 watches usable again. I also ordered the tool to remove the backs for next time. A small investment for a small blade. I wear my watches like jewelry, so I like to have several running at a time. This will pay for itself rather quickly. But the satisfaction that I can do it myself is priceless!!

Not for Large MM Watches
The packaging alone probably would have prevented me from buying it in person. Packaged like is was made when Chairman Mao was still in office. Weird smell and oil coating. It shipped from Amazon in the box, but they put a plastic bag around it.Seems to work OK to put the backs on watches that require pressure. It's not super stable when working on a workbench. It's easier to pick it up and squeeze it with both hands. Be careful not to drop the watch though. I haven't used it to replace a crystal. The largest MM size is 40, which isn't too bad, but still a little smaller than most of the popular watches today.

Works great
After struggling to push the watch cover in with my thumbs, I decided to give this tool a shot. Tool arrive quickly in box and tool seems pretty sturdy. No instructions are included but you can easily figure it out. Just screw in the nylon dye on the bottom that protects the crystal of your watch. Then put in another one on the top. Press and the watch cover is back on.Make sure you align your watch cover correctly. Some covers have a small groove for the winding mechianism.Another 2 changes and this tool will pay for itself. Great value for the price.

Worth every penny
If you decide to replace watch batteries you will need a device like this to easily snap the watch back onto the watch. It worked perfectly every time for me even though the dies it comes with were not always an exact fit for the particular watch. Watches come in so many unique sizes that I can see you cannot have every size. Also, although using the tool is very obvious it would have been nice to have included instructions. A final minor consideration is how one would store something like this. It is a very awkward shape. All in all worth it.

This Watch Case Press may fail to snap your watch's back ...
This Watch Case Press may fail to snap your watch's back cover in place because the plastic disc doing the pushing was not designed / fabricated to work on a watch that uses a 3V, Lithium cell to power the watch. That was the case with my Timex watch--no matter how much force I applied with the press, the snap-back would not move. I quit without success and almost returned the tool, however, thinking about the issue for a couple days gave me the idea to install the back cover WITHOUT THE CELL IN THE WATCH. Bingo!! The press and discs easily closed the watch. Try that yourself, if you have been facing the popular not-working complaint. Without a cell inside, there is nothing to push back against the back cover, but with the cell in place the central portion of the cover pressing against the cell, the cell is pressing against the watch frame, and the frame is pressing against the lower Nylon disc. Nothing gives. However, if the upper disc is made with an underside clearance (where the central portion of the watch-cover may spring into) the hand-press will push the back cover into the watch frame.

I feel like I've been lied to
I feel like I've been lied to. There were no instructions on the (damaged) box, although I managed to figure out how to use it (not that hard, really). The trouble is that no matter how hard I press, even with putting all my weight behind it (I'm not a small person), it STILL doesn't snap my watch back cover into place. Me, being a glutton for punishment, I've been trying for days, and NOTHING.I guess I'm going to have to waste even MORE money to get a jeweller to do it for me.

Good Product at a Fair Price
In the past I used to always change my watch batteries, until 7 years ago when I broke the crystal face of one of my favorite watches. It cost $100+ to get a new watch face and caused me to be no longer change my own watch batteries. With several watches requiring new batteries every year or two I have gotten tired of paying a jeweler $15+ to change an 75 cent battery. So, I bought this case press (and watch batteries from Amazon). I have no complaints. As others have commented, it's not a pretty tool but it works fine. There are enough nylon dies for me to change the batteries in two of my watches that needed changing (including the one I had replaced the face on). The press worked perfectly. After replacing only 2 watch batteries with the tool I am neutral on the cost, the next battery replacement will be a return on my investment!
