Orthopaedic Open Coil Spring, Happy Beds Super Ortho Medium Firm Tension Mattress with Reflex Foam - 4ft Small Double (120 x 190 cm)

Ordered this mattress on Tuesday was delivered 7am on Saturday, it was double wrapped in polythene the top wrapping was torn but as second one was intact mattress was unmarked.The mattress in firm enough to let hubby sleep comfortably and relatively pain free (he has Spondylitis in spine) he has had very good and refreshing sleeps since we bought the mattressWe have a bed that has a Millbrook mattress which cost three times the amount this one did, it is very comfortable also gives excellent rest and support and I know Millbrook mattress's last and stay as the day you bought it for a very long time as I have bought a few over the years. BUT if this Happy Beds mattress lasts a reasonable time (I don't expect it to last as long as a more expensive Millbrook) and stays firm and supportive then I would say this mattress is a much better and cheaper option .

Bought this mattress for a new bed frame I had purchased. I wanted to have something that would be supportive but also comfortable. I may have made a little blunder.Of course, this is an orthopaedic mattress. Yes it gives your back proper support and can prevent problems with back pain etc. But damn is it harder than I thought it would be. I think a lot of this is perhaps down to my weight; i'm not a very heavy person, under/around 12-13 stone, so personally I wouldn't recommend this to anyone around that weight as even if you have back problems, this may still be uncomfortable. HOWEVER, it is well put together and, given the right weight, would actually support you quite well. Regardless of my own personal mistake it is still a decent mattress and could possibly save you a lot of money in comparison to more mainstream brands. There are no gaps, scrapes, loose threads, cuts or anything untoward about it, there is no funny manufactured smell like you get with some mattresses and in all it is pretty good.Again, if you're light I would avoid this, but for the heavier among us this may be just fine.

A bit dubious at first after hearing about how unsupportive the "old fashioned" Bonell spring mattresses are...this is rubbish...I bought a Simba hybrid mattress.. very expensive...thinking this would have helped with my back and hip pain but had to change it as it was like lying on a slab of concrete. i did not sleep well at all- waste of money! This little mattress however is fantastic.. I'm sleeping better than I ever did and this is because this mattress has actually worked at alleviating my pain! Oh and to top it up...I felt the difference after just one night. I was amazed as I had been struggling to sleep due to pain. 10/10

Long lasting and comfortable. It feels quite firm to start but soon loosens up.

This mattress is incredibly firm. Feels very dense and hard - which if you have a bad back like me, is a very good thing.I slept on a very squishy mattress for years, it was pretty thin and had a built-in memory foam topper. Quite recently I had occasion to spend the night in an independent hotel. In the hotel, I discovered that the mattress was really hard. I was worried about this, I thought it would make my back worse, but as it was late and there was no other option, I begrudgingly went to sleep.The next day I woke up and to my amazement, I had no pain in my back at all.This gave me the incentive to do a bit of research.I discovered that sleeping on a firm surface can be very good for people with back pain. The stiffness gives support, and essentially holds your spine in place, instead of constantly moving around on a soft mattress.Anyway, after spending the night in that little hotel I asked the manager where he got his mattress. He gave me the link to this item, which I placed an order for the next day.Without a doubt, the most comfortable, sturdy, supportive mattress I have ever slept on. It could be twice the price and it would still be a bargain.

Good value for money

I am not going to say that they didn't deliver in time or that it wasn't in bad condition but they firstly delivered the wrong size as I ordered a 4ft mattress and ended up with a 4ft 6in. If you want to try and return the mattress and get a new one the person on the end of the phone, which is always the same person obviously one person ran business, can't seem to be bothered to help you. After arranging a new delivery and collection day - which was on a day I said that I wasn't at home - I ordered a new mattress and just wanted this one collected. Obviously too difficult for the company or person to handle. I rang up and the person was rude to my other half, refused to talk to her and then continued to blame us for their inconvenience. If they had delivered the RIGHT sized mattress in the first place, then there wouldn't be any bother. No star rating, never ordering from this company again. For a company that is called "HAPPY BEDS" should seriously think about changing their name to "CAN'T BE BOTHERED BEDS". Terrible!!!!!

This is a big, heavy very-firm mattress.I'm 6'4" and 18 stone and i can say this mattress is very firm.I had previously been sleeping on a pocket spring / foam mattress which was adverted as firm but turned out to be as firm as a sponge when i was lying on it; that might sound funny but it did lead to back pain.Clean and well packaged, delivery firm Yihani Logistics were spot on too.
