An almost perfect shade that installs easily, looks great, and actually works the way it should
These shades are amazing. Prior to repainting our room and window trim we used to have the roller-style blackout shades. For some reason within a few weeks they would always get worn out and I'd only be able to shut them 2/3rds of the way back up. This annoyed me a lot, but I didn't think there was much I could do. Then somehow I bumped into these online and gave it a try. First, it's great that I can install them without making more holes in the window frame. Second, I love that I can size them myself, easily, without needing a table saw. And third, they actually work great! They stay all the way open or all the way shut. They glide smoothly and depending on the model you get, they can even do a pretty good job at blacking out most of the light. The one major downside, however, is if the window frame you want to mount them in doesn't have a surface that is at least 1" wide along the top. This happened in one of my windows, and it doesn't provide enough stickiness for the shade to hold itself up. The way I got around this was by attaching some screws through the top-most pleat and into the window frame. You can see them if you look closely, but it's not that bad.

Cheap; Attractive; Super Easy!
The drapes in the dining room were shot. They were on a window behind the dining table, and people who sat near them were tired of always catching their chair legs on the drapes. And I had purchased the heavily lined drapes so we could watch TV (when not eating a meal together) in the dining room; now the TV is in the living room, so we don't need a heavy curtain to block the light. We had just put in new wood floors and when we took the drapes down for the installers, I said they're not going back up. I knew just what I wanted, since I had seen these inexpensive fabric shades on my sister's window. They provide privacy while letting light into the room. They aren't built to be raised and lowered every day, though you can change once in awhile. They are bargain priced so that if someone inadvertently gets a blob of spaghetti sauce or soy sauce on one of them, we can replace them without a lot of hand-wringing over the expense. They are really as easy to put up as the promotion says they are. For our long window, I purchased two, and the line of window frame in the middle is where they meet. Cut them to size with a box cutter or open pair of scissors, stick them in place, and you're in business! I bought extra tape for the project but never had to use it. The peel off strip was all we needed. Really great!

Doesn’t last
I bought 3 of these, and all 3 had the bottom plastic part disintegrate within a year. The handle that is used to lower the blind is very thin plastic, and after less than of year exposure to sunlight the plastic completely fell apart. They were easy to install and looked great for a few months, but have long since been trashed and replaced with something sturdier.

You get what you pay for. If you don't expect much you won't be disappointed.
These were purchased for installation into a new home. The cutting to size was n9t as easy as they claim it to be. Installation was easy, peel and stick, a child could do it. Installed on 9/8 and found you had to fuss with them to get them even across the bottom. Otherwise it looked like a drunk was playing with the shades. Two days later one of the shades just refused to retract no matter what we did with it. Fortunately I had ordered 2 extra shades, never dreaming I would need to replace one in less than 2 days after installing it. Disappointed to say the least. Lets hope the others hold up.

They do filter the light, but they are not blackout shades.
These shades are nice and they do filter the light, but in no way do the block out the light. I made a mistake when I ordered them for my grandson's nursery thinking they would make the room dark for naptime and at night. I liked the idea that there were no cords. However, my daughter had to purchase curtains to go over these shades because they were too shear to block out the light. The shades do not make the room dark. If you are purchasing these shades with that in mind, then they are great. They are easy to cut and easy to install, and the price is right if they serve your purpose!

Pleasantly Surprised
I tend to feel skeptical if an item gets too many good reviews. Especially something cheap like this one. But summer is coming, and I was desperate for a solution for my HOT apartment (the sun streams in one side in the morning and blasts in the other side in the afternoon). I thought, "Even if they're crappy, at least I'll have something." Since I'm renting, I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on something that I'd either have to leave here or sell later. So... despite my skepticism, I took the plunge. As usual, Amazon delivered them to me super quickly. And here's how it went down: 1. Removal from box - fine. 2. First look - pretty plastic-y and cheap-looking. Feeling doubtful they'll stay up or work. 3. The cutting - didn't have an Exact-o, so I cut them with a kitchen knife. Kind of awkward, but it worked. 4. First window - held the thing up to the window sill and felt very doubtful. Peeled off the backing, just hoping. Then stuck it to the top of the window, still very doubtful. ... 5. It stuck! 6. Pulled on it... 7. It worked! And it actually looks really, really good. I installed five of these in about an hour and you would never know they're cheap pieces of plastic I cut with my kitchen knife. They look great, they work really well, and I'm pleased as can be.

Ok, worth maybe $12 bucks!
We ordered some of these a few months ago. This recent order I noticed the quality of these things is significantly gone down—they’re much cheaper feeling. They are easy to cut but the measurement sticker on the bottom doesn’t come off easily and this didn’t come with the handy cutting guide tool of our first order. If you try to peel it off, like I did, you’ll make a ugly mess of it. One of the hangs crooked. I’d happily pay 12 bucks for these but not good value for three times as much.

Love these blinds. LOVE THEM!
We bought a considerably large beach area home that was a foreclosure and all the windows needed new coverings. I bought a few of these thinking I'd use them temporarily until I figured out what colors I was going to choose. I loved them so much that I did all the windows in them except the larger front and rear windows. So all bathrooms, den, bedrooms and family room now have them as they let the perfect amount of light in while providing privacy. If you prefer a darker blind, they make black out ones too though I found them to be way too dark! After 8 installs of these, I can tell you that if you ever want to remove them and put them somewhere else, it will be a challenge as they stick like crazy glue once put up the first time! I carefully pulled one of these blinds off a window frame and used screws and new 3M double sided extra sticky tape to install elsewhere and that worked just perfect. I am going to use these permanently, however, I recommend adding a decorative swag or something with a rod for design purposes. One last thing, they are not flimsy. They make a cheaper model of these for REAL temporary situations. These ones though are of very good quality. I love that there's no strings to pull. Just lightly touch the bottom and push up and they go only as far as you want them too!
