A Little Plastic Bowl Chock FULL of OMMM-NOM NOM NOM NOM
The title pretty much says it all.I'm disabled, right, and occasionally I have a hard time moving around enough to get much more than cold cereal for a meal. It's a little known fact that hot-meal deficiency can lead to an acute onset of Febris Casa or Furor Clausa (Cabin Fever and Closed-Up Crazies, respectively).ANYHOW...Just pop one of these little beauties in the microwave and in 90 seconds - maybe 100 - you have a hot, great tasting entrée (North American usage). If you add some microwavable veggies, you can produce an entire hot, well balanced meal in a single foray from your proverbial, "Bed of Pain."Now... MY 'Bed of Pain' is actually a bed, and the pain part is actually... well... you know... PAIN, but your Bed of Pain may be lack of time between work and your evening Cheese-Straightener Repair Class at the local Learning Annex, or Subito Furore Fames (Sudden Starvation Madness) brought on by chronic Amentia Artis Belli Orbis (Video Game Addiction - specifically: World of Warcraft). Whatever it is that is driving you into an unhealthy deprivation of hot meals, this is your 90-second prophylaxis!I've been sampling these Hormel Completes, and all of them are worth having around! My favorite, so far, is the 'Turkey and Hearty Vegetables' running neck-and-neck with the 'Salisbury Steak with Sliced Potatoes & Gravy'. The ones with tomato sauce - the spaghetti and lasagna - are too sweet for my tastes, but I know lots of people who would do back-flips for them.I cannot encourage you enough to try these things!Umm... well... now that I think about it... I guess that I actually CAN, you know, as I've already probably encouraged you TOO MUCH to try them. I'll stop typing now.SO: The only big decisions left to me now is which of the three varieties of Hormel Completes I have in the pantry to have for lunch, and then whether to go back to bed or to fire up My Video Game of Choice. ('Artis Belli Orbis' has got that... oh... I don't know... 'Je Ne Sais Quoi' about it, don't it?)Ok. I lied before. This time, though, I will actually FOR SURE stop typing!

Mushy
Not a favorite, edible but on the pasty, mushy side. Pasta didn’t hold up and it was glob-byEdit. These really vary in taste and quality. Since taste is very subjective, I suggest that you try several. Personally I love most of the potato ones but I find the pasta dishes to be pasty and not as appetizing. There is a lot of gravy and I suggest adding some canned vegetables and a slice of bread for a full meal. The price is still reasonable but I’ve noticed that the meat has gotten smaller in size and apparently they’ve increased the sodium content so read the label if you’re watching your salt. This is a pantry stable in my short term emergency pantry. Can be heated in boiling water as well as the microwave. Great for bug out bag, camping, or those who just don’t have time or energy to cook. Retirees, college students, etc. cheap alternative to fast food.

Average for the Hormel Line
The swedish meatballs with pasta in cream sauce is not one of the better ones nor is it one of the worst. There is a hint of sourness to the sauce (which is really more of a gravy than a pasta sauce) that puts me off and the meatballs only take away from the pasta rather than add. There's really no flavor to them at all; they are simply texture and that's it.For what this is -- a non-perishable prepared food that is fairly cheap -- it's pretty decent. It will fill you up quickly at very low effort and cost, but if you are going to compare it to something you can make yourself, well, there really isn't any comparison.** Contains both wheat and soy

Sent Me Back In Time, Worth the Price Tag
I used to eat the swedish meatballs as a kid. They dont sell them at all in my state anymore and it immediately sent me back to my childhood. My childhood wasnt the best, growing up the way I did though these were a once in awhile treat for us, as we grew up very poor. My mom always cooked us foods from our home country. American food or snacks was often forbidden in the house. I took one bite of this and it felt like I was 11 years old again, back when I would savor every bite and eat it extra slow so I could enjoy it for longer, while feeling grateful yet guilty that my mom wasted money on me. I wish I could go back in time and eat my mothers cooking one more time. But this, brings me back to the love she had for me, allowing me to become americanized by a microwaved meal, (her great fear) and a little upset that I want that more than her cooking. I remembered the panic and fear I would feel as she paid for the food, unsure if the payment would go through, and the gratefulness I felt that my mom made room for it in her budget. Thank you hormel, for taking me back in time, and healing something in me I didnt know was broken. I will definitely buy this again.

Really hard to eat...review of Hormel Swedish Meatballs
I really dislike the taste of this dish "Hormel Swedish Meatballs". The taste is odd. I mixture of hint of metal/plasticy chemical. Total waste of money. The bad taste actually lingers for a way. If you must eat this I suggest washing this dish down with a glass of lemonade. I actually like some of Hormel's other canned goods. But this Swedish Meatball dish is really bad. Hormel should definitely stop making it or try to greatly improve the taste. A hard pass on purchasing this again. I don't like wasting food so I'm going to force myself to finish the case I purchased and never buy again. I could donate the remaining dishes to a food pantry or equivalent but I can't knowingly put another person through that type of bad experience.
