Great little tiller
I bought this tiller in order to dig a 120' trench to run an electric line. It needed to carve through grassy turf and compacted soil that contains lots of small rocks. It was slow, plodding work but the tiller did amazingly well, a couple inches at a time. I had to go down 12-15", and the tiller was a champ. I used a maddock for the last 6 inches or so because I didn't need the full width of the tiller. When I till established garden areas in the spring, it should be a breeze.

Met expectations
Used to dig up wild Bermuda grass and other weeds from my lawn. This is my first tiller so there was learning needed. I learned that the speed at which I walked had a significant impact on the outcome. Slower was better for me because I wanted to reach the roots. The four tines worked okay but more tines would have been an improvement. I learned that swiveling the machine a few inches back and forth was an improvement.I wish the machine was heavier because it bounced up frequently. That being said, It did the work about 5 times faster that using a spade. When I bought it I was okay if I had to toss it after the job was finished. I have used it 4 or 5 days and seems to be working fine. After this season I may not need it again. For me it was worth the Amazon price because it saved me many hours of spade work. It isn't a professional tool but I knew that at the time of purchase. It did what I needed it to do so I am satisfied with the purchase.

Better than digging.
Blades collect and knot weed roots. removal is difficult. An O lock ring fell off in use.

Works great even in very rocky soil!
This tiller worked wonders for me! I had purchased a home that had an old rotting playground spanning much of the backyard. After tearing it down, I had to deal with several cubic yards of pea gravel that was used as the flooring for the playground. I cleared off the top layer myself to reduce the amount of gravel that would be mixed in the soil, but the gravel was as much as 6 inches deep in spots. This tiller was able to go through the soil effortlessly even in areas where the gravel made up 50% of the material being tilled. It makes about as much if not slightly more noise than a lawn mower. It is very easy to handle, and I appreciated the extra safety feature of having to press the button and lift the lever in order to get it going. Keep an eye on your power cord as it can be easy to run it over if you aren't paying attention. The directions also say this tiller is not suited for tilling sod, although I used it on some small, densely weeded and grassy areas and it was able to plow through them both, although it took about twice the time per square foot to till. I would not recommend it if you were planning on tilling a large area of growing grass or weeds. It would be better to spray these areas first and till the soil after the grass/weeds have died.

Surprising
This little jewel is perfect for the home owner. It works surprisingly well. I have MANY Greenworks products, and love every one of them. This little guy will dig. It's quite, of course, and you don't have to mess with gas cans. Well worth the money.

Great price and very good quality IMO.
Update: it's been two years now. I use this about 5 times a year and it's still doing great. I had removed the wheels and now command this beast with upper body strength but it did the job!Perfect weight for digging into my news home's virgin flower bed. The contractor thought it would be a great idea to leave hundreds of 1-2" sized rocks and taco Bell hot sauce wrappers in the dirt. Not a problem for this cultivator. This is my first time using one and I'm glad I went with the 8A over the smaller Greenworks tiller. This thing has yet to slow down even in this clumpy clay dirt in my garden. I'm very pleased with price and quality. This is my second Greenworks brand electric garden tool. I just bought one of their lawn mowers. Hopefully it's just as good as I'm expecting. My only complaint is the instructions seemed a little lacking. I have two pins left over and I don't know where they go. Tool has operated fine for at least a couple of hours so I think they're extra?

Read the review before you buy this tiller it might help your decision
I gave my review based on preference and performance. The machine doesn’t dig into the dirt that great. you have to force it, to start churning the dirt. Here is what gathered so far.1-If you have a planting area that needs to be churned. This machine has an insane motor on it.2- For people with sandy soil that tends to be more aerated and softer to dig this is the machine for you.3- if your trying to rip your grass apart and your grass has a strong root system. This is not the machine for you. Just rent it from Home Depot or Lowes. The tines on the tiller are not meant for heavy duty ripping. They are more narrow than normal tillers4- if you have clay soil don’t even try to buy this tiller. It would be a waste of money.
