First, it has sort of a salt-shaker top so I applied glitter primer and then "shook" the glitter on until desired. I also applies it with a makeup brush for more preside designs. It wears well, lastly mostly all day. I would say yes you can use it for 'face painting' **Q: Is this glitter biodegradable?** A: No **Q: Can i use this is lipgloss?** A: I think it would be hard to keep it on. They apparently don’t make it anymore and I’m so pleased with this. It doesn’t get in my eyes and it stays put. I use it for my eye shadow and it doesn’t get in my eyes. My granddaughter wants some so I’m getting her some for her birthday. Lots of sparkle, it uses functions for my eyes just perfect. Seven dollars for this bottle that last and last is a real bargain.
