A queer space opera graphic novel story of love that starts in boarding school ― and persists to far-away outer space. "There are so many things that Mia hates about boarding school. So, so many. So she gets kicked out. But not before she falls in love... Now she's a crew-member on a spacecraft that travels to distant planets to restore beautiful, broken-down structures. But even as she grows closer with the crew, she can't help but remember and dream of the girl she met in boarding school ― and hope to meet her again someday. Part love story and part epic space adventure, On a Sunbeam is a masterpiece from an explosive, unmissable talent. Tillie Walden's inimitable style is gorgeous as she tells a story of sexuality, gender, first love, and awesome cats. Review: A very touching story, set in a vividly beautiful universe - I'm not generally a reader of graphic novels, but was pulled in by the universe design of 'On a Sunbeam' - starships like vivid koi swimming between worlds, floating temples being restored and repaired, a colour scheme well-chosen to create the feeling of the spaces (which shifted and changed as the locations did). I wanted to travel in those ships, be a part of the strange and wonderful worlds being shown to me. The story moves in streams; the past and present unfolding to keep the reader immersed and gradually lead forwards. This makes it easy to pause between reading segments if you are pressed for reading time. The characters build and shift relationships organically over the course of the story; this is really the heart of the adventure, and made for some touching moments. The representation of LGBTA+ people is great to see also. Whilst you can read it all for free on Tillie Walden's website, the visuals are worthy of having a hard copy of Review: Support indy artists - Beautifully illustrated with a story to match! One of the best graphic novels I've ever read
Take your time to read Tillie Walden's beautiful On A Sunbeam: you won't be disappointed. It's bittersweet, sometimes sad, but full of hope, hope, hope and heartachingly honest. I'm so, so glad I bought it.

An amazing piece of literature
Phenomenally well designed and written book, stunningly visual, but just couldn't fully amaze me to the maximum when it came to its story. A great suggestion to anyone who hasn't experienced the more intense graphic novels and wants to experience the medium.

Good
The book came great. The hardcover is strong. There were no dents nor damage. It is quite heavy though. The art is also beautiful and a good read.

Great Representation
Love this book, has great representation of LGBTQIA+ people and talks about why pronouns are important.

An epic tale, beautifully illustrated
I can’t recommend this enough! Skilfully conceived characters, it looks beautiful and it’s even won over a sci-fi sceptic like me...

Must read, wonderfully queer
I cant say enough good things about this graphic novel. The art is fantastic. The story is intriguing and keeps you guessing. The world building is very mysterious and subtle but simultaneously immense. The story and characters are queer af.

Cautivador
