About Proving Knowledge not Teaching Lessons
This book shouldn't be a textbook for sociology classes. Everything is phrased with the expectation that the reader never considered sociology or inequity before reading this book, but the draw of sociology is that it gives words for the phenomena most of us have already noticed to some extent. No definitions are given, no theories are explained, and there is not adequate organization. The photographic examples are too simple to be informative. The writing style could get people invested if it weren't so pretentious, and the price is accessible, but it frankly isn't worth the money. A note to sociology professors: taking the time to write a short anthology of your lecture notes and giving it to your students would be better for everyone. This book has great potential to confuse and annoy students and very little potential to teach them.

Should be called a feminist prospective
This book does cover the basics of sociology, but it is a feminist perspective of sociology. The book blames masculine, heterosexual males for all the world problems. I find the book problematic and disingenuous. The book should be called a feminist prospective on sociology, with works from extreme feminist sociologist. This book is typical elite academia doctrine.

Best sociology textbook ever
Best book for sociology, along with the 30 readings book from gould and lewis. The pair make sociology a breeze. Easy to understand and very relatable to real life
