Algae are probably the oldest form of life on the planet and the first life to emerge prior to catastrophic events. Survival is written into it's DNA. This algae has complete essential amino acids and a complete trace mineral profile. When this product begins to taste good to you you will know that your body is clean and toxin free. Use the taste as a gauge of how toxic you are. I recommend you take it slow if this taste bad to you take 1/4 the dose if it taste really bad to you and slowly increase the amount you use. Detoxing is not fun so if you know you are very toxic please please go slow with any product that is meant to clean out your body as well as this one. I have been using blue green and green algae for close to 40 years. the first time I had any was a very empowering day for me. It change my life. I use to have some everyday of my life for about 30 years. Retirement and fixed income has forced me to reduce my use of this very valuable food. I keep a bag of it rotated in my shtf emergency food supply. Any time one of my family members is sick I give them a bigger dose of this. Taiwan is known for there production of these super foods. This particular brand is a very high quality product and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve, maintain or,restore their over all health. Just to confirm this stuff taste really good to me. ;) Realize this is a fine powder. Open the bag with care. I make a smoothie with it one teaspoon for me and my husband is a great start for the day.

Look, this is my second bag, and I have to admit that this tastes like a load of carp to me, but healthy doesn't have to taste good. It has a nice dark green color(see pic). I tried drinking it mixed in straight water, but I couldn't deal with the fishy taste (so no, carp was not a typo). I think it tastes and smells like fish food (don't ask how I know how fish food tastes like. We all have done something we regretted). I have taken to adding a spoon to my daily fruit and vegetable smoothie to mask the taste. Aside from the dark green color it hardly affects the smoothie. I just hope the smoothie does not degrade the health benefits of the product. I can't 100% attest to the health befits. It is not like I can see the heavy metals pouring out of me, but I do feel somewhat better since starting using it. As far as I'm concerned, this stuff does not mix well with cold water, and it will stick like glue to a wet spoon, so be careful that your spoon is totally dry(see pic). Also don't shove your spoon into the water with the powder on it, or you will end up with a gob of green gook on the spoon. I tried shaking it up in a water bottle. It worked better, but if you shake too vigorously, it will foam pretty bad. You will have to add more water to get the last of the healthy out of the bottle. Did I mention that it tastes pretty bad this way? Into the Smoothie it goes! THE MOST IMPORTANT THING! It is NOT produced in mainland china. There has been a lot of information on the web on the quality of Chlorella produced in Taiwan, and almost all say it is the best in the world for naturally grown Chlorella. South Korea is best for the indoor method. Spirulina is grown in many places, including the states, but I don't see why I would buy it from a separate place? It comes in a vacuum packed bag, so it will feel hard when you receive it, but it will be a fine powder once you open it. The bag makes for a long reach with the measuring spoon when it starts getting low. Also, If you have questions, contact the seller directly. I did, and they were very forthcoming with answering all of my questions.

Be careful not to put too much in your smoothie. It'll be very thick.
