Solid quality does the job comfy to hold could of done with some assembly instructions not everyone are professional welders took a bit of working out but eventually got it sorted

The media could not be loaded. Replaced my old electrode holder with this one, and it works perfectly. The rods are held firmly in place, which helps reduce waste and improves the welding process. The connection is steady, resulting in clean welds. Easy to attach and fits most welder cables without any hassle.

while the size and shaping is a usefulo design, this twist to grip arc welding rod holder is terrible quality, and not made correctly/faulty. The clamping mechanism on mine did not clos into the centre of the v and only closded partly before the handle bottommed out. The hole in the handle the brass screw goes through was not central. Given this, it is frabnkly dangerous. Maybe yif you get one that works as it should and is made correctly then it might work ok, but the cable holding clamp is far to big so you have to double over the cable or you screw the hex bolts in past the thread end, plus zero instructions on either using it or fitting ther cable.Dangerous and returned mine. Imagine an insecure road falling out in use. Shocking.Even if it worked fine the £18 (Mar '25) price is not goodf value imo.

The Generic Twist Grip Electrode Holder arrived packaged in a plain cardboard box.In the set you get the stinger assembly, an Allen key and two cable pads (copper and steel).The unit is decently made and comprises a yellow plastic handle with the hardware mounted on top.Welding rods are secured by unscrewing the handle partially to open the jaw and then tightening down, while the unit has to be unscrewed completely for cable attachment to the welder.In use the device works well and gives a secure and easily controlled grip for stick welding rods.A handy device for the arc welder!

The standard welding rod holder that came fitted to my welder was of the spring clamp type, this was not a very good arrangement as the rod could move quite easily. When this twist grip holder arrived I was impressed at how well it was made, it had a lot more weight than the old one and clamps rods solid. The holder came with no instructions but it was pretty straight forward to work out how to go about attaching it. First wrap the copper foil around the bare wire as tight as you can, I found rolling it up first and then letting it wrap around the wire, then place the steel clamping plate where the screws will contact and push into the back of the electrode, finally tighten the Allen screws with the provided key and re-assemble the holder. I found it much better to use as it has a textured surface for grip with heavy welding gloves. This holder is great value and an excellent upgrade from the standard item supplied with a lot of welders.
