Samsung 3.1 Soundbar - 3-Channel, 340 Watts (HW-KM55C) (Renewed)

1st, this is a refurbished unit, with that said the main product looks new (sub/soundbar). However, the packaging, cords, "warranty manual" are just tossed together almost as an afterthought. Dropped a star because the remote shipped was DOA. Checked the supplied battery, good. Checked for IR output N/A. I could have returned and Ordered another but the box barely made it the 1st time. Ordered a replacement aftermarket remote, works. There is a APP for remote control via BLUETOOTH, a bit limited but works. ARC function via HDMI flawless. Out of the box the EQ levels were flat and the subwoofer was barely audiable. Adjust the Treble, Bass and Sub to desired taste. Sub is a bit lackluster but for an apartment, dorm, small room, (or in our installation set up) 5th wheel travel trailer works like a engineered dream. On a side note the item shipped was not the HW-KM55c what was shipped was a HW-K550. The HW-K550 support rear speakers (5.1 with kit SWA-8000S) so that is a bonus. The HW-KM55c looks to be a SamsClub exclusive. I will update this review as needed.

I purcahsed this sound bar based on a personal recommendation from a friend. It was a refurbished model. It arrived in a large generic box with all of the components well padded and intact. No problems there. There were no scratches or signs of prior usage. There was no printed manual but that information is on-line on the Samsung website, so that wasn't a big deal. Hook-up was fairly easy, including interface with the Sub-woofer. Overall, the sound quality is very good. Much better than the TV alone. You can experiment with the various settings to get the best sound for your listening pleasure. There is not much base coming from the Sub-woofer, even though it is turned up to the maxium setting. This is the only criticism that I have thus far!

My sound bar, the (HW-KM55.. the C only means refurb.) arrived in perfect condition in a Samsung Box. Although the invoice stated refurbish.. the actual description stated NEW. Well packed with Samsung marked packaging. All the components were vacuum sealed including the remote and sperate battery, complete with all original stickers that had never been removed All worked (including display) right out of the box ( of course you have set you TV to Dolby) The sound is excellent and the Bluetooth A1. The manual is easily download from Samsung (as long as you tell them it is a 55) Enclosed warranty leaflet explains this. I can only describe this purchase as a wonderful item at less than half price even at Walmart. Purchased directly though Amazon and sold by "Goodasnew Electronics"Highly recommend.)

Looks brand new and works perfectly! I took one star off because the packing was absolutely horrible... I'm surprised it arrived in one piece. Also note you will need 2 screws to mount it.

I liked the fact that it was easy to set up. I didn’t like the fact that it was dented on one side.

I spend an entire movie turning the volume up so I can hear the voices. Then all the way down for any sound effects or music

I was hoping for really nice sound. It is not a whole lot better than the TV speakers. The TV speakers are awful. The sound bar lists for much more than what I paid. (mine is refurbished) I was expecting to be surrounded with magnificent sound. Not at all. If I turn it up much the dog gets upset and my wife hears it upstairs. Not good. If I don't turn it up I can't understand the voices. Can't win. I don't know what to do.DisapointedLC

Amazing product. Just a little damage in the edge of the sound bar, but sound quality is amazing
