This toy is an unqualified winner with everyone in my home. The little treasure boxes and sturdy and well made, with no sharp edges. The lock mechanism works very smoothly, and the little toys inside are very appealing as well. My 16mo grandson is still a bit young for this, but it's great for us to play with together, to work on his fine motor skills. He really really, likes this toy and wants to be able to open the boxes on his own. Everything (keys, chests, figures) is color coordinated, so it's a great way to work on colors, too. There are 10 chests in the set, enough for several children to enjoy together.My only concern is that the keys can easily be misplaced and lost. An older children or adult will still be able to open the boxes without a key, but pre-school children will not. It would also be nice if the keys had a hole so they could be put onto a key chain. We're going to do the best we can to supervise play with this toy and make sure the keys are put away with the chests after play. That reminds me, the storage box is high quality and a great place to store the treasure chests and keys after play.

I purchased this toy for my son since he really enjoys fine motor activities, and also keeps him sitting in one place for quite some time. I love the concept of this toy, as it targets many early child development skills. My son enjoys using this toy, however, since he is only two, it is a little bit hard for him to open up the treasure chest and match the various keys without help from an adult. Once he is able to open it with assistance, he is always excited to find the puppet hiding inside the treasure chest. The colors are fun and engaging, and it is also the perfect size for a young child. This toy is definitely a winner!

First be aware, that like so many of these product pictures, the toy has been enlarged to look much larger than it is in relationship to the children in the picture. Check dimensions for an accurate idea of the size of this toy.This toy is cute, colorful and a big hit with my toddler who loves opening the treasure boxes with the keys and playing with the little finger puppets. The keys need to be matched to the right box, and are both good for that practice and for hand eye coordination.I do wish the keys were on a key ring or in something that keeps them together as they are small and easy to lose (which would mean the toy doesn't work) Otherwise this is a lot of fun with lots of different play options.

These treasure chests are great, they are cute and easy to play with, and encourage kiddos to match and identify to open them. There are a variety of animals and key shapes to keep them entertained, and they are a great size for little hands. As a speech therapist I constantly use these to target so many goals, from imitating functional words like “open” or “more” to prepositions and two step instructions.

This toy is a little iffy. It is fun and educational but it’s small and kind of a choking hazard. Also being as small as it is it will easy bend or get lost. It’s definitely cute, not so practical though.

This is an interesting toy on a few levels. Our youngest enjoys the toy as is with the cute animals inside while our 5 year old likes to use the chest and keys as part of her imagination games using other trinkets inside. Our toddler matches the keys and chests by colors right now but is starting to recognize the shapes to pick out the keys by key/lock shapes. The chests are a nice size to hold as are the animals inside. My only minor issues are 1) the color of the key for the orange and pink chests are very close in color so it is difficult for him to distinguish those two. Also, the lids don't just pop open when you turn the key but most of the time, you can turn the key, let go, and still be able to open the chest lid which is good for little ones. Sometimes it doesn't open that way unless you turn the key a little harder or, like you would with a real key, you keep the key turned while opening the lid. In general though, this is a real nice toy.

Adorable finger puppets in a plastic chest that opens with included keys. My kids love "unlocking" their animal friends, and the puppets themselves are well-made and cute. The colored keys match different locks, adding an educational element to playtime. My 3-year-old loves matching colors but needs help with the stiff locks. Puppets are soft and well-made. Chest is sturdy but a bit challenging to open - wish it was smoother. Still, great for imaginative play and fine motor skills.
