Looks great but slightly let down by the instructions and terminals
Firstly the good points. It's a nice looking light once it's installed, and the internal metal clip that holds the lamp in position seems to work relatively well and might even work with the style of LED GU10 where the LEDs protrude in front of the normal sizing for the lamp (our LED GU10s don't protrude so I can't check this suspicion) but there are a few problems with the fitting although they can be worked around...The instructions say to drill a 75mm hole in the ceiling for the light but we found that a 75mm hole is too big - it takes a lot of fiddling to then get the fitting to sit flat and not hang at a slight angle. We found that a 72mm hole was infinitely better as the fitting then only just goes through the hole and then sits firmly flat. Annoyingly I had read the instructions and most of the holes we made were the 75mm size - if we hadn't had access to the loft space above the lights it would have been nearly impossible to make them sit correctly in the ceiling. The terminal block isn't the best design but it does retain the 1mm twin and earth solid core cable we used for the circuit. It would be so much better if the clamps were more like Wago connectors with pull up tabs that then positively clamp in place, rather than the sprung push-down tabs where it's relying on the spring to then retain the cable. The cable strain relief is completely useless. I gave up trying to use them and just put a cable tie through the holes that the strain relief is supposed to use. I can't even see how the manufacturer thinks the strain relief should hold the cable in place! Finally the terminal cover hinge snaps very easily. It would be better to either use the same clip on both sides and no hinge, or to make it so it doesn't snap. Once again I've used a cable tie over the terminal cover to stop it coming off.All in all the frustrations are almost worth the great value the fitting represents, as they look really smart now they're in place!

A well made unit that looks neat but has a loose fit in the recommended hole size.
1) The exterior bezel is supplied (3 colour options available) but not the bulb.2) The recommended hole size is 75 mm but this is too big. The main diameter of the body is 68 mm. So once installed, the unit has to be manually centralised to avoid a gap appearing. A smaller hole would make a neater fit; if necessary shallow slots could be filed to allow the spring clips to pass through the plasterboard.3) Instructions are included, and are in English only, but there are no diagrams which would have helped. As is often the case, they appear neither to have be written by someone who's actually used the product nor checked by someone using it for the first time. E.g. The terminal cover can be lifted using fingers to depress the latches, not levered up with a screwdriver, per instructions, which could damage it. No strip lengths for the wiring are specified and it's not easy to see what they should be.4) The terminals are push-fit, not screw-down. Beware that there is only one chance to fit the wire; once it's fully home it cannot be removed again. Using long-nose pliers can help with pushing the wire fully into place. The terminals are made for lighting cable and will not accommodate anything larger.5) There are 6 terminals in the connector, 2 each for L, N and E. This makes wiring easy for loops (connecting lights in parallel) but there is no spare terminal, as there is in a conventional pendant light. Therefore the light switch cannot be wired-in directly and requires a separate connection.

Okay, but minimal
These are pretty good value, but.....The connection box that you put the wires into aren't great. The hinge is plastic so if your wires are a bit tight you will break the hinge if you force it. If they replaced this with the horizontal grip hinge style (which have no cable guide, so much easier to fit) I would totally rate a 5.

Excellent light fittings, certainly recommend
These were a breeze to install. I was replacing older lights and thankfully the hole size was the same so there was no extra cutting required. The only tool I needed was a pair of wire cutters. After cutting the wires off the old lights -I know I could have used a screwdriver but there was plenty of cable- I stripped a fresh bit of copper back and the wires just insert into the tool-free fitting. I gave them a good tug to ensure they were well secured and found no problem. I was literally able to swap each fitting in less than 5 minutes. Very pleased with the look of them too.The lamp cover twists into place but there's no satisfying click as it locks into place so I'm hoping that they don't loosen over time due to vibration.
