599-211 A/C Heater Climate Control Module Panel Switch

I see that this and many other aftermarket units have many terrible reviews. I bought this like about 2 months ago. I just installed it today. Honestly, idk where people have their heads at. Firs tiff was of course taking the dash bezel off and dropping the steering wheel down and stuff to get to the old unit which the old unit was held with a few screws. Took the screws out and took the old unit out and unplugged it. Plugged in the new unit and put the dash bezel back on then turned on the truck which is a 2005 Chevy Avalanche 1500. So anyway back to what I was saying. I turned on the truck and no calibration was needed. I was going through each setting and I was messing with it for a good while to see how it would work longer than a few minutes after installing. Messed with it for a good 30 minutes going through the temps and control settings. The fit was very nice and popped right in place and fits like oem. The first picture is my old one. I lights were half out, and it was just old 21 years. Second is the new one after installing and the last was a little while ago when it got dark. Definitely looks better than the 22 year old unit. It was pretty much just plug right in without calibration. I heat and air both work and the fan kicks off when turning the unit off. Lights are good and bright but not crazy bright. I buttons and knobs are nice and smooth. Only time will tell how long it will last, but I'm very impressed already and works straight out of the box!!! I get told that all aftermarket parts are junk, but in reality I think most people just hate parts because they think the stuff is junk just having 1 day use of it. For around $80 for price ,id pay this instead of paying oem price. So glad to have my heat and air back.

This product is junk, it appears to work at first, but then certain features quit functioning or only function sporadically. . I've replaced it three times, finally went to an original Dorman OEM. It actually calculated to the vehicle when plugged in and has performed perfectly. Should have bought it the first time instead of replacing the Chinese version 3x. Lessons learned the hard way.

Easy install, it was a little glitchy on first use, but I think it’s working fine now, which is better than the old unit I took out.

The product was easy to install, but does not run the function of calibrating your actuators as the factory installed control module is capable of doing. Still having the same problems with the actuators not working. Will replace those and see if it works.

Controller looks factory. Operations are inadequate. Fan runs on high continuous. Heat comes on then a/c comes on. No air on floor. When on manual and place air to floor, air blows out defroster. Fan only has low, medium or high. No variable air flow. Never got continuous heat until control was set to 90 degrees. Tried turning off truck. Fan continued to run on low. Started truck, turned controller off then turned off truck and fan turned off. Could not quit laughing. Might be just bad controller. Not going to get replacement of this brand. I’ll pay for OEM.

I guess it technically works, However, besides having all the lights that function and look good it performs terrible compared to my old worn out one. Temperature knobs are hardly responsive, settings will randomly change mid drive and you need to cycle through back to what you want, every time you start the vehicle you need to put the settings back to where you had them as far as temperature and/or ac recirculate, etc.

It's junk. Does not control heat on drivers side. So damper is not being moved damper OK. Control no good.

Very poor product, loose fit poor lights and wouldn't control the blend door , definitely junk !

No unfortunately it didn't. Looks exactly the same as the one in my pick up. Did as the 3 instructions asked of me. It did its thing looked like it was going to work then nothing. All it would do id light up and no fan. Tried to recalibrate and nothing. Couldn't get it to go into calibration mode.
