SpaChoicePremium Bromine Spa Kit, Made in USA

This is my very first kit for my very first Spa. I had no idea where to begin. I decided to go with the bromine setup for ease of use according to the dealer. It's one thing to have all of the chemicals you need to get started oh, but it's another thing when you have an instruction guide that is extremely easy to follow that step by step takes you through each one and how to use it. From what I understand there are other kits that don't even include instructions. They are extremely easy to understand and break down everything for you. I had my water tested at the dealer before I did anything else which what is suggested before you start.The book begins by discussing about the differences between chlorine and bromine. It does not recommend one over the other however I've been told it bromine is much easier to use for a first-timer. It's also cool because you can use the floater that comes with the kit and just let it sit and Bob in the spa when not in use to help keep it clean. You cannot do this with chlorine. Starting from the beginning it breaks down all of the chemicals what they do and the measurements that you need. One thing I definitely found was really important to know is how much water in gallons your spa will hold. All of the measurements are based upon this.As I said starting from beginning to end of the book is extremely easy to follow and understand. I highly recommend this to anyone especially a beginner. It's so easy in fact I will probably just continue to order the kit as I need it. It comes with everything you need and it's much cheaper buying it this way that each individual bottle. Also the instructions I can't emphasize enough are worth all the money just in itself.The only thing the kid doesn't include that you will need is an alkalinity increase. But as the dealer said the inexpensive way to solve the situation is use plain old baking soda.

I've bought 3 of these. I use the kits to open the hot tub my small 4 person hot tub.I was surprised to see some low ratings so I figured I would put in my review to hopefully help people.The bottles are pretty small as many reviews state. You won't make the entire hot tub season with just the contents in this box. You will have to buy additional bromine tablets, additional defense and bromine booster. Maybe other chemicals depending on your water. (For example last season I had to buy additional increase PH)I really just consider this as a start up pack. It is really convenient to get everything in one package with a decent price. The tablets, booster and defense will last you maybe two months depending on the size of your tub.I've read complaints about the strips. It usually comes with a little red container with maybe 20 strips so that isn't that much. I usually buy spa choice bromine strips since I find them more accurate. That part is kinda a bummer. Would be perfect if it came with 50 decent strips.The instructions included are for treating both bromine and chlorine tubs. Sometimes the instructions can get a little confusing, you think you are missing a bottle but turns out it was a step meant for the chlorine kit.All in all this kit is great for opening a small hot tub and running for about 2 months. I have done 3 openenings succesfully with just the contents of this kit and kept it going for a couple of months. The bottles are small and there are not enough strips so you will have to order additional supplies eventually. Once again I have a small four person hot tub, search "the Lifesmart Rock Solid Simplicity Plug and Play 4 Person Spa With 12 Jets" on amazon and you can get an idea how small my tub is. So for larger tubs I am not sure how well this kit will perform.

This is a good kit for a beginner. It has all of the instructions and chemicals in one kit. The instructions are easy to read and follow.The only thing I would do differently is to get a separate water hardness test kit. You could also take your tap water to a local hot tub place and have it tested there. There's hardness/softness chemicals, but without testing there's no way to know how to adjust for calcium/hardness.I'll adjust my 4 star +/- depending on how well the kit works over time.

Great kit for your spa. No more chlorine smell for me.

Got my inflatable hot tub and ordered this since i knew zero about the chemicals. I liked that it was one kit with everything in it. I liked that it had a really nice easy to follow and understand guide for what to do to get started. I followed the guide and used the chemicals in the right amount, confirmed with the test strips and I was pretty shocked that no matter how much bromine I was throwing in there, there was no bromine showing on the test strips. Everything else balanced per directions and I'd used about 2/3 of the loose bromine and put 3 tabs in and waited a few days and still no bromine reading. I read here and some other places on the internet, that i want to get a non-chlorine oxidizing shock which will allow the bromine in there to show up on the test strip, so I went to walmart and bought that and some other HTH bromine tabs since i was going through so much. When I used the shock, i got a bromine reading. Used the hot tub for a week and it was still low. Wasn't until i threw away the Bromine tabs that came with this kit and replaced it with 2 (not 3) HTH Bromine tabs from Walmart that my Bromine levels are consistently the desired levels so I can only conclude that the Bromine in this kit is no good. Maybe its expired idk but no bromine seems to show up if i use what came with this kit. Oh and it comes with only a few test strips. Barely enough to get up and running, so I had to buy more of those as well. I'm happy to have had a place to start with this kit, but so far I've not needed most of the chemicals in this kit, and I dont think the Bromine in it works. If i had it to do over again knowing what i know now, I'd buy something different. Buy some test strips and some bromine and some non-chorine oxidizing shock. The test strip will tell you what else you need. Skip this kit.
