Mr Fothergill’s Festival Mixed Lupin Seeds

Don't trust the instructions, research online first!!!
I bought these as they are one of the few varieties of lupin that flower in the first year supposedly. The seeds were sown on the 2nd of January and at the date of this review (11th February) I am now down to about 10 which are struggling to grow on, from an initial count of over 40 seeds in the packet. They were planted within the time frame given on the packet's instructions, and were not over watered. Clean new compost. No reason they should have failed so badly. I later discovered from online research that most people recommend either gently sanding down the seed shell, or soaking them in warm water overnight before planting. There was no mention of that on the packet's instruction however, so I'm really annoyed. That said, the seeds that have managed to put out any shoot at all are still weak and sickly, so I'm not sure if the seeds weren't just poor to begin with; they certainly had excellent care so they should be doing well. Overall very disappointing and I wont be buying them again.

Dissapionted.
Dissapionted. Only 4 have started to grow and a couple just seem to die off as soon as they appeared. Most of them didnt even attempt to grow. Will update review in the summer if they improve.

Looking forward to planting them
Arrived quickly and looking forward to planting them. It didn't say on the packet whether they are perennials.
