I LOVED THE WAY THIS BOOK WAS WRITTEN AS WELL AS THE ILLUSTRATIONS.

My kids and I love this book and the others in the series! Reading these stories are a great way to introduce some U.S. history to my children. I am from Canada so I am learning a bit of history myself. The stories are basic but detailed enough to give a good overview. Great addition to our family library!

I love the point of view of these books! Teaches my child to see past the end of their noses & imagine other scenarios.

I teach reading from 2grade - 5 grade my young students were amaze at the story telling book. I tried to stop twice while reading. But they insisted I continue the story. For when the time is right they will be reading back to me. Loved the books.

If You Were a Kid in the Thirteen Colonies is exactly the kind of book that is needed for young history buffs: readable text with a story line that underscores the value of good character. Young readers will be intrigued by the cutaway photos and historical facts. This book enables students to examine the elements of a non-fiction text: table of contents, index, map, timeline and index. A refreshing way to present history!

I enjoy supplementing my daughters school learning with a little history, and this looked really promising. Unfortunately, these books don't contain a ton of facts, and present history in a fictional account of two friends. Had I known that, I probably wouldn't have gotten this book. However, it is age appropriate for anyone K and up, so if you're looking for some light light historical reading this is great, otherwise I would recommend the "IF YOU" series - we have the If You Lived In Colonial Times, as well as If You Lived During The American Revolution. These books are more challenging for young readers, but the information is a lot better and a lot more interesting.

While I think this is a cute book it definitely doesn't fit my family. I will be passing it on to someone else. It was difficult to explain to my kids that they would not have been doing these things at all if they were living in those times.
