A Girl Named Misty: The True Story of Misty Copeland (American Girl: A Girl Named)

Easy to read
This is a short, easy to read book for young readers. It has nice, colorful pictures to go along with the story. Obviously Misty's story is not very detailed since it's a simple book but readers can still enjoy and may be encouraged to learn more.

Encouraging True Story
This is a good read and inspiring, true story. We paired the Misty Copeland and Simone Biles' biographies as gifts to an athletic ten-year-old girl who enjoys reading.

A good character, should have a better story.
I bought this book, and in the hope that, it, along with other books in this series, can set up a great series of role models for my girls. But these stories are not so inspiring, perhaps they are more for kids of 8+? but then the content is too simple for them. Anyway, for 1st or 2nd grade readers, these stories are bit too plain. We need some good storytellers for this great idea of book about girls.

Great find!
This book was great! We loved reading it and it put a smile on her face. She is an aspiring gymnast at the age of 4 and seeing a brown girl doing as she dreams was awesome!

Another opportunity.
Bought this book for a young friend, she loves the book and as a young African American girl, it helps her to see what other avenues are open to her including ballet as well as the production side of dance and teaching.

Dream a dance.
For little Black girls who like/love to dance. To be able to follow the journey of someone who looks like you and know that dreams are possible for them too.

Sanding with Misty
The book is very nice however my child found it s little difficult to read on her own because of advanced vocabulary. But overall very good.
