I live in Hawaii, extremely humid and can't keep spices, sugar and flour dry. Would this work on a kitchen counter?

I placed the first one I had on my kitchen counter. Make sure you have the height clearance to fit under the cabinets. By the way, I place my flour and sugar in large zip-log bags and place them in the refrigerator.

How loud is the system?

I've owned this model (80L) and currently have two 230L. Neither makes a sound.
