Q: Do the grip pads make it easier to throw your hard hat? And how durable is it say if gets thrown about on average once a week?

Yes it makes it easier to throw. I cracked the brim and f***ed up the head liner clips on the first throw. Then 20 min later on the second throw i put a chip in the top and broke the adjuster knob.
