This is a very well made device that works great, doing exactly what it claims to do. It's a smart design that includes. a built in mirror that attaches to the back with magnets so it doesn't get lost. You can then look at the reflection through the window and see your teeth illuminated with the black light. Plaque appeared as a light film near the gumminess, slightly lighter in color than the rest of the teeth.

Don’t waste your time and money. This product does nothing. It’s supposed to show where plaque is on teeth, but teeth look the same through the viewer before and after brushing. Everyone in the family tried it and all look the same. I know everyone’s teeth can’t be that clean! I’m returning.

This is a very convenient and effective dental plaques detector. It is a hand hold light, using a short wavelength light to illuminate the plaque on the teeth. It is useful right after brushing or at daytime when a plaque might grow up. The operation is very easy. There is no need of a dye or solution. There is a mouth guide to direct the light and there is a window to show the pink plaques. It is powered by a recharge battery using USB-C socket. There is even a hanging ring to hang with other brushed in the bathroom.

I am including a photo taken through this plaque light. The camera doesn't show the plaque areas nearly as well as I can see them in person, but you can see a little redness between the teeth where the light has identified plaque. Although I like to be careful with UV lights and not use them too much, I still think this is a great tool to help you learn what you need to do better when cleaning teeth.What I don't like about this is that the "muzzle" that you put around the light so that it only shines on your mouth falls off very easily. It's also really easy, too easy, to accidentally turn on the light. When I was just looking at the light, I had the side with lights facing me, and my finger hit the power button. I got very bright UV lights shining into my eyes all of a sudden.I would give it five stars based on its usefulness. I would give it significantly fewer stars based on its design, both in regards to position of the power button and the fact that the light shield continually falls off. By the way, the light shield only goes on properly in one orientation, but it's not obvious which way it goes on until you've tried one way.

This does not work at all. I tried using after drinking coffee and eating breakfast, my teeth looked perfect which I know was not possible before brushing my teeth. If I could choose zero stars, I would.

I found that this plaque disclosing device worked best for the portion of the teeth that other people see when I smile. I had a hard time seeing my back molars and it was pretty much impossible seeing the portion of the enamel that faces the inside of the mouth (especially on the top teeth); that is the main drawback of this device for which tablets would of revealed. For me this is really important since I can see with a regular mirror darken spots and to some extent feel the plaque when rubbing my tongue against a tooth. Usually those are also the trouble spots I have while flossing.This device does highlight and make plaque more easily viewable with the naked eye. I think this device is best for children so it will get them brush properly when they are young and start healthy habits.

I ordered the UV light dental plaque detector. It came in an easy to wrap box with a collar that needs to be snapped onto the light and a USBC charging cable. The product topped off its charge quickly and a change in light color indicated that charging was complete. It is interesting to use and a pretty neat design from an engineering standpoint. The collar is to protect your eyes from light leakage while using. Then you remove the back so you can see the light through a protective lens. It works well pointing out the areas of plaque in a kind of reddish color as viewed through the filter. It works well for what it is.In case anyone else was hoping that it would also detect pet accidents by us light, it doesn’t seem to do this. Probably a slightly different wavelength between plaque and urine florescence.
